Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 156,000 members 😱) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.
This week we’ve got lots of new products that are perfect for the weather warming up, and Summer rolling in. I’m excited, are you?
Pepsi Max Ginger – Syn Free
First up we have new Pepsi Max Ginger. This isn’t the first flavour combination that I thought Pepsi or Coke would do next.
Pepsi Max Ginger is a delicious, refreshing alternative. It’s not harsh and fiery like ginger ale, but a much more mellow taste experience.
We saw it posted on our Facebook group, and have all been scouring the supermarkets. So far, only Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s are stocking it according to the Pepsi Max Twitter account.
Pepsi Max Ginger is priced at £3.50 for a pack of 8. No Syns per can!
You could even be brave and try making our Syn Free Pepsi Max Chicken with it?!
Lidl Oaklands – Unicorn Carrots – Syn Free
Anything “unicorn” is all the rage, and it’s obvious to see why. Who would’ve thought that even fruit and veg would be getting in on the act?!
These unicorn carrots from Lidl are sooooo colourful and would brighten up any speedy salad or meal. There’s the added bonus that they’ll be extra appealing to the kids too – what’s not to like?
You can pick these Unicorn carrots up from Lidl and are priced at just £1 a pack.
They’d be fab with our Syn Free Lemon & Chicken Tray Bake!
Waitrose Richly Fruited Mini Hot Cross Buns – 4.5 Syns Each
Who can resist the lure of a hot cross bun at this time of year? These little ones from Waitrose are the perfect treat without using a whole heap of syns!
Easter is on its way, and you don’t have to feel you’re missing out on the hot cross bun front.
They’ve got all the spice and sultanas of a usual sized hot cross bun but just in miniature – why not try them with some reduced sugar jam, or light spread for a delicious Easter treat!
They’re £1.69 a pack, and available from Waitrose. Many thanks to Karen in our Facebook group for the tip!
Coke Zero Vanilla – Syn Free
Not to be out done by Pepsi, Coca-Cola is launching Coke Zero Vanilla!
Apparently, data from Coca-Cola shows that Coca-Cola Classic with Cherry and Coca-Cola Classic with Vanilla are the most popular flavour combinations in the UK.
So they’ve decided to launch Zero versions of both! Coca-Cola Zero Vanilla will be available from April in 1.75L, 500ml bottles and 330ml cans. We’re looking forward to trying it.
Alpro Yogurt – Plain With Oats – 2.5 Syns/500g Pot
Enjoy the goodness of soya and almond, Alpro Plain with Oats!
It’s a plant-based alternative to yogurt packed with fibre, perfect for any time of the day.
The oaty texture and fine oat flakes give you a unique mild oat taste experience.
Rich in plant protein, Naturally low in fat and low in sugars. As ever it’s free from dairy, and suitable for vegans.
You can pick up Alpro plain with oats from Waitrose (£1), Morrisons (£1.77) and Ocado. It’s just 2.5 Syns for the whole 500g pot.
Aldi – Specially Selected Lamb Rogan Josh – 1 Syn
Sometimes we all need a quick meal to zap in the microwave (yep, even the Pinch of Nom team!) and these low syn offerings from Aldi are soooo tasty.
The 1 Syn Lamb Rogan Josh is meaty and spicy, perfect for a weekend treat. Louise from our Facebook group gave it a try…
Just had the lamb one for lunch, didn’t taste as artificial as some ready meals. Nice pieces of lamb, very spicy sauce. Incredibly tasty and I would definitely eat this while my family ordered curry in and not feel hard done by! Very impressed!
Becky from our Facebook Group also tried it..
Really enjoyed the lamb Rogan Josh, quite spicy for a rogan Josh, more like a jalfrezi heat to me. Absolutely brilliant value for £2.49 and only 1 syn, would eat this again definitely 9/10 x
The 4 Syn King Prawn Bhuna is packed full of flavour with the added luxury of those sweet king prawns.
They’re both priced at £2.49 and are available from Aldi.
Fit Kitchen Meals – From 4.5 Syns Each
We were perusing Instagram yesterday, and came across these bad boys from Fit Kitchen.
The Fit Kitchen range includes Pad Thai Chicken with Zesty Sauce, Middle Eastern Grilled Chicken, Malaysian Grilled Chicken and Kung Pan Chicken.
The whole range is available from Waitrose, Ocado and Sainsbury’s for £3.80 each (although the Malaysian Grilled Chicken one is £3.99 from Ocado) and they’re all high in protein and fibre, without being high in calories.
If you’re a bit short on time you can have these on the table in 5 minutes!
They come in at 4.5 Syns each, apart from the Middle Eastern Grilled Chicken which is 6.5 for the 380g pack.
New Muller Light Flavours – Summer Inspired
New Muller Lights flavours always go down well, and we see the debut of the “Summer Inspired” flavours!
The two new flavours are Raspberry & Peach, and Summer Berries. We don’t yet know if you can buy them individually, but you can get them in multipacks.
We believe they’re available in Asda, and will no doubt be appearing in other supermarkets soon.
They’re *probably* Syn free – but we’re awaiting confirmation.
Heineken 0% Alcohol – 3.5 Syns a Bottle (TBC)
Can you tell it’s nearly summer yet?! All these new Slimming friendly drink options are popping up.
Heineken are launching it’s 0.0 brand in July, but we thought we’d give you the heads up first!
Heineken 0.0 will be available in 330ml cans and bottles, including multipacks and it’s bound to be on offer when it comes out!
I might be a little odd, but sometimes a beer without the alcohol is a good thing, providing it tastes nice. I’ve got high hopes for a few bottles of this around the BBQ in the summer.
We’ll bring you more news regarding Syn values closer to launch.
Bahlsen Leibniz Minis
These are a perfect little treat for only half a Syn each!
They may be small, but if you’re a fan of Bahlsen biscuits then they are a great lower Syn alternative.
You can pick them up from Ocado and Tesco for £1.29 a bag and according to the Bahlsen website you can also get them from some other independent retailers.
Bahlsen also make Pickup! Mini’s which have been available for a while now, and are just 2.5 Syns each.
Nakd Lemon Drizzle Bars – 6.5 Syns Each
Lemon Drizzle cake has been a great British favourite for years, and the guys at Nakd have brought out their version for a limited time only.
The new Nakd Lemon Drizzle Bar is made with completely natural ingredients, with no added sugars or syrups. They are gluten, wheat and dairy free, and vegan friendly too!
With a cake-like consistency it’s great with a cuppa, or as an after dinner treat if you prefer.
They’re not on the database yet, but they come out at 6.5 Syns using the Snacks calculator, which isn’t too bad at all.
You can pick them up from Asda for £0.74, but they’re a limited edition so if you want to try them grab them while you can!
Schar “Salti” Crackers – 1 Syn Each
Oh we love a good cracker, and came across these Schar “Salti” crackers whilst doing the Morrisons shop.
They make the perfect addition to some cheese, or even to dip in our Syn Free Chicken & Bacon Pate!
As always, Schar products are amazingly tasty yet gluten free. So those of you who are sensitive to gluten can be happy! These “Salti” crackers are also lactose free.
They’re on offer in Morrisons at the moment – just £2 a pack. Or, you can get them from Tesco too for £2.65.
Frijj Zero Milkshakes – Syns To Be Confirmed
Frijj milkshakes have always been a weakness of mine but they’re not so good for the waistline. So the introduction of a “no added sugar” range got me very excited!
Choose from chocolate, strawberry or mango and passionfruit, these milkshakes are just as thick as the standard Frijj ones and packed full of flavour but without the sugar and therefore syns!
Frijj Zero will be on the shelves from April – definitely one to look out for!
