If you need some first week inspiration – check out Kay’s food diary!

It relies a huge amount on setting yourself up with a great stock of staple ingredients and getting yourself into a good routine to enable you to Food Optimise 100%.

It’s really important to make some time somewhere in the week to prepare meals for these busy times.

One hurdle I faced, and many others do, is regular meals like breakfast and lunch times.

I’m rubbish in the mornings and cannot prepare anything in time for love nor money.

It’s really important to make some time somewhere in the week to prepare meals for these busy times.

If you’re working a regular 9-5 (ish) in the week, make some time on a Sunday evening to prepare lunches for the week.

A great lunch time meal is soup! Super (souper? Soz) easy to made and can be made in batches to freeze, making it easy to take to work each day.

Check our our recipe for Syn Free Pea And Ham Soup, another very popular recipe with our readers, and looks absolutely delicious!

Food Guilt – Am I Eating Too Much?!

You may get to this point around four or five days into following the Slimming World plan and Food Optimising 100%.

You’ve been used to eating too much food and gaining weight because of it, but now you’re eating loads of food and it’s supposed to help you lose weight… How does that work?!

Food optimising 100% will still allow you to eat loads of healthy food and still lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

This is when you need to trust the Slimming World plan and trust your new found knowledge with it.

One of the most common heard statements from new members at a Slimming World group is ‘I’ve eaten so much food!’, which is true!

  1. Can diabetics join and would it be good for well me? Am a type 2 diabetic who needs to eat better and to lose some weight thanks x

    1. Hi Caroline
Diabetics certainly can join Slimming World. It would be worth having a word with your GP or diabetic nurse first to check that they’re ‘on board’. (As with any medical condition.)
Make sure you tell your consultant, as SW have a special supplementary booklet for Diabetic members.

  2. i have been a member for a long time im struggling cant get motivated any hints that might help would be appreciated

    1. Hi Margaret
From personal experience, it sometimes helps to literally go back to Week 1. Sit in on the New Member talk with your Consultant, they won’t mind and it’s good to have a refresher, sometimes we might get a bit complacent about weighing/measuring Healthy Extras etc.

Re-read your books from your member’s pack too, and pledge to keep a food diary again, write down everything you eat.

It’s also worth mixing things up a bit, especially if you stick to the same HEA/B choices. Try a couple of new Healthy Extra choices.
      Hope that helps!
