Halo Top Ice Cream Price Reduction! | Slimming World

One of Slimming World members’ favourite frozen treats has been reduced in price this week, meaning that Halo Top ice cream is once again set to become a sell-out item!

Halo Top Ice Cream Price Reduction!

We brought you the news in January that Tesco had slashed the price of all of their Halo Top flavours in half.

Just a few days later, we announced that Tesco stores were selling out nationwide due to the extraordinary demand from Slimming World members.

Halo Top is once again on offer in Tesco

Tesco have again got a great deal on Halo Top, with all flavours currently on sale for £3.50 a tub, instead of the usual price of £5.00.

What Is Halo Top?

Halo Top has been a favourite ice cream in America for some time now and they launched their product in the UK earlier this year, to the delight of many Slimming World members!

In the US, there is a huge range of flavours to choose from, some of which are available in the UK.

Judging by the runaway success of this product, we’re hoping that the UK will be introduced to some of the missing flavours soon – especially given how tasty the current flavours are!

What Flavours of Halo Top are Available in the UK?

Flavours currently available to the UK include cinnamon roll, peanut butter cup, cookie dough, chocolate, vanilla bean, sea salt caramel and mint choc chip.

Halo Top comes in a wide range of flavours

The variety of flavours, the great taste and the relatively low Syn values have ensured that Halo Top has become a firm favourite dessert option for Slimming World members.

Each tub ranges from around 15-20 Syns, making them a great alternative to regular ice cream. Many Slimming World members have commented that they can’t even tell the difference!

When Does the Offer End?

Tesco’s price reduction ends on the 2nd April 2018, giving you a couple of weeks to get your hands on them.

However, given the speed at which they sold out at the last price slash, you may want to head down to Tesco for a tub (or two) as soon as possible!

  1. How many grams are in 100ml and 118ml of ice cream? I like be halo top but always worried I’m weighing it wrong.

    1. Hi Charlotte
Measuring ice cream can be quite a controversial topic. As it’s not a liquid when consumed, it can’t be measured in mls. The Tesco website lists nutritional information which is helpful when trying to calculate.
Halo Top lists 118ml as a serving, which is 1/4 of a tub. The total calories (for a tub of Cinnamon Roll flavour) are 360, so if you work out 1/4 of that you get 90cals, which would be 4.5 Syns. (Using the 20 cals=1 Syn rule)
You would need to check other flavours, as the calorie count does vary slightly.

  2. 100ml is a fifth of the tub so I removed the ice cream from the tub and weighed it.
Then I divided by 5 which gave the weight of 100ml. This worked out at about 50g give or take a very small fraction. Some ice creams worked out at 53 or slightly less.

I could then work out my ice cream scoops weight too.

I spent much of yesterday working this out as I was trying, successfully as it happens, to make a SW baked Alaska for todays Sunday lunch.
