Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 248,000 members 😱 it keeps going up each week!), one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.
Lots of stuff this week, including the return of a now infamous sausage!

Aldi Specially Selected and The Fishmonger range
Aldi have brought out a some new fresh fish in their Specially Selected range. They’re all free and a P food.
Lightly Smoked Scottish Salmon Fillets
These salmon fillets are smoked over wood chips to give a rich smoky flavour.
They come in packs of 2, are £4.29 and they are RSPCA Assured.
These are perfect for making our Syn Free Salmon & Tabbouleh!
Scottish Salmon Fillets
Again, these come in packs of 2 for £4.29.
They are sourced from the Scottish Coast, and they are also RSPCA Assured.
These go pretty well in our Syn Free Creamy Salmon and Asparagus Pasta! Nom, nom!
Skinless Boneless Cod Loins
These are sourced from the Northeast Atlantic, and as with the others in the range, they come in packs of 2.
They are MSC certified, which means that are a certified sustainable seafood, and can be traced back to a sustainable fishery. They are £3.89 per pack.
Cape Hake Fillets
These aren’t in the Specially Selected range, but they are MSC certified.
Hake is a great alternative to cod or haddock, and it’s usually a bit cheaper too.
These Aldi ones are £2.49 for 2 boneless fillets.
Morrisons Big Blue Sea Hake Fillet
Following on with the fishy theme Morrisons have these new Hake fillets for £4.00 a pack.
They are skinless, boneless and ready to cook.

Marks and Spencer Candy Floss Grapes – Free Food
You may remember we mentioned flavoured grapes from Tesco last week.
Marks and Spencer are now also stocking Candy Floss grapes. They are currently on the 2 for £4 and 3 for £6 offers.
They’re not speed, but they are Free, but as we said last week, they’re great for snacking on instead opening the biscuit tin.
They’re also great to use in our Melon and Berry Bowl.
We’re huge fans of beetroot, so we thought we’d share our latest discoveries with you.
Marks and Spencer Beetroot Infused with Vinegar and Horseradish
The first thing to mention is that these are sweetened so it will cost you some Syns. The beetroot is infused with white wine vinegar and horseradish which gives it a bit of a kick.
They come in a 180g pack, and they are on the database at 2 Syns for a 90g serving, so it’s not too bad for an occasional treat.
Continuing the beetroot theme, in my opinion, one of the quickest ways to liven up a salad is to add pickles!
Many people don’t realise that the vast majority of pickled vegetables, onions, beetroot and gherkins are free, and SPEED!!
It’s often said that we eat with our eyes, so the way we present our food is super important, especially when we’re trying to eat healthily.
Haywards Diced Beetroot 400G jar
To me, diced beetroot is a fab way to give your salads a professional touch.
It looks so much more delicate to scatter some cubes of beetroot artistically over your plate or salad bowl. Bonus points for presentation.
Haywards Diced Beetroot is free and speed, so it ticks all the boxes.
Available from Tesco at £1.20 for a 400g jar.
Tesco Sweet Pickled Crinkle Cut Beetroot 340G jar
Another attractive way to serve beetroot is to use the crinkle cut variety. I used to feel very posh as a child when this appeared on my plate!
As with all Tesco pickled beetroots, this one is Syn free and speed food too.
You can pick up a 340g jar from Tesco for just 65p.
Muller Light Cheesecake Inspired
These limited edition Muller Light Cheesecake Inspired yogurts are currently only available in Iceland, at £2.75 for a pack of 6, or you can get them for free when you buy any 3 Slimming World meals or meat products.
The pack includes 3 Vanilla Cheesecake flavour and 3 Lemon Cheesecake flavour. Muller Light Syn values have been re-evaluated by Slimming World Head Office. These now have a value of 1 Syn per pot.
Will think the Lemon ones would be great in our Low Syn Lemon & Blueberry Baked Oats recipe.
If you’ve never heard of Mangosteens, they have a white edible centre enclosed in a thick deep reddish purple coloured rind.
They are mainly grown in Southeast Asia, Southwest India and other tropical areas such as Puerto Rico and Florida.
The fruit inside the rind looks quite similar to a lychee, but a bit bigger, and the fruit is sweet, tangy and juicy.
These Asda Growers Selection ones come in packs of 4 for £2.50.
Mangosteens are a Free food, but sadly not Speed.
Morrisons The Best Plumigranate Plum Punnet
As the name suggests these are a cross between a plum and a pomegranate.
The resulting fruit gives the tanginess of a pomegranate with the sweetness of a plum.
They’re definitely a Free Food, and possibly even Speed as they are more plum-like than anything, but please do check with either your consultant or the Syns Hotline (09068518518).
You can pick up a 400g punnet from Morrisons for £1.93.
We mentioned these last week as they are now available in selected Iceland stores outside of Ireland.
Since then Broghies have released a full list of those Iceland stores that will be stocking them.
If you’ve not heard of them, they are a crispy alternative to bread, that contains no fat, no sugar and no preservatives.
They work out at less than 20 calories each, and they are on the SW database at 1 Syn each.
You can find out more about them on their website.
Capri Sun Apple no added sugar
Just a couple of weeks ago, we featured Fruity Water from Capri Sun in our Shopping Essentials list.
We’ve also covered Capri Sun Orange, Blackcurrant and Tropical flavours, with no added sugar.
Well, now we have Apple flavour Capri Sun no added sugar, to add to the shelves!
The boxes contain 10 x 200ml pouches of Capri Sun and Morrisons are currently selling them for £2.00.
While not on the database, we’ve put them through the Syns calculator and they’re coming up as free, but please do bear in mind this isn’t an official Syn value so please do double check yourself.
M&S Bursting Blueberry, Pomegranate and Acai Berry Tea
The blueberry, pomegranate and acai berries give a fresh, fruity and full flavour, with a tangy, berry boost.
We think this would make a great iced tea!
As you may know Frylight brought out a new Avocado oil flavour, not that long ago.
Next week, it’s going into 255 Tesco stores in the UK and 64 stores across Ireland!
You can also get the Chilli Frylight in Aldi stores at the moment too.
M&S Spirit of Summer Chilli and Coriander Chicken Escalopes
These Chilli & Coriander Chicken Escalopes are cooked and ready to eat.
The cooked chicken breasts have been marinated chilli, coriander and turmeric, inspired by flavours from the Middle East.
Fab to eat on their own, or you could shop them up and put them in our Syn Free Orzo Primavera Pasta Salad!
They are already on the database, and the good news is they are Syn Free.
Honey Monster Oat Puffs with a dash of honey
Regular followers of our Shopping essentials posts may remember when we covered Honey Monster Wheat Puffs a while back.
At the time, we knew that Honey Monster Oat puffs were due to be launched at a future date, and here they are (finally!!!).
I tried them last night, and have to say they are a MILLION times nicer than the regular Honey Monster Wheat puffs!!
As the name suggests, they’re made using oats rather than wheat.
It’s made by puffing grains of oats with steam, then drizzled with ‘monster magic’ which is definitely Syn-free and a dash of honey!
They’re already on the Syns database as an HEb choice (40g) which is a huge bowlful.
Available from Morrisons at £2.23 for a 320g box.
Cadbury Limited Edition Marshmallow Mini Rolls
When you really do deserve a treat and you’ve saved some syns especially for it, what do you choose? A piece of cake? Perhaps some chocolate?
How about a treat that covers all those and more?
Cadbury mini rolls are a tea-time classic. Chocolate sponge, with a delicious creamy filling, enrobed in milk chocolate. (I’m salivating as I type this!).
Cadbury have launched three limited edition flavours.
We mentioned the Hazelnut flavour and Honeycomb flavour last week, and now we also have Limited Edition Marshmallow flavour.
This one isn’t on the database yet, but work out at 6 Syns each on the Syns calculator. (This isn’t an official Syn value, but it is consistent with other flavours, which are on the database.)
Currently they are available from Morrisons for £1 a pack.
Nutella Ferrero B-Ready bars
Okay, I love Nutella. There, I’ve said it.
I used to keep a jar in the cupboard, but it was always too much of a temptation. (Okay, I confess, I’d eat it by the spoonful, straight out of the jar! I bet I’m not the only one who’s done it, right? 😉
I recently discovered these beauties, which may well save my Nutella cravings from spiralling out of control! (and possibly save my blushes on weigh-in day!)
Nutella Ferrero B-ready bars are individually wrapped crispy snack bars, perfect for a tea-break or to curb that sweet tooth.
They have a crispy, wafer shell, which is marked into 3 sections. Each section is filled with Nutella. It’s like eating a Ferrero Rocher!
They come in a box of 6 x 22g bars and work out at 5.5 Syns each using the Syns calculator (the 22g bars are not on the database yet, so this isn’t an official Syn value).
They are currently available from Asda for £1.99.
Jammie Dodgers Minis – Berry Blast Multipack
I love a bit of nostalgia – and biscuits are no exception. Every Christmas we used to get a box of Victoria biscuits, and the ones we always fought over were Jammie Dodgers!
2014 saw the launch of the regular size Berry Blast Jammie Dodgers.
These Shortcake biscuits with a blackcurrant flavoured plum jam filling are now available in mini snack packs! They’re on the database at 1 syn per mini biscuit.
Only available from Ocado, there are 4 mini biscuits in each snack pack. A bag of 7 snack packs costs £1.49.
Aldi Featherweight Wines
Aldi have launched this range of low-calorie wines. There are four different varieties, which we’ll mention below. They’re all 5.5% vol and they contain between 52 to 59 calories per 125ml glass.
Sadly, only one of them, the Merlot, is available in all Aldi stores nationwide.
The others are only available in certain regions, so if you want to try them you’ll have to look around. But at £2.99 a bottle it may just be worth the trip.
Aldi Featherweight Merlot
This one is available in all Aldi stores. It’s 52 calories per 125ml. It’s on the database already at 3 Syns per 125ml, 4 Syns per 175ml or 6 Syns per 250ml.
If you’re a fan of the Gallo Summer Red then you’ll like this one!
Aldi Featherweight Sauvignon Blanc
This one is 55 calories per 125ml, and from what we understand it’s available in Swindon, Bathgate, Chelmsford, Neston, Goldthorpe regions (but please do check with your local store before you make a special trip!).
The Sauvignon Blanc is also on the database at 3 Syns for 125ml, 4 Syns per 175ml and 5.5 Syns per 250ml.
Aldi Featherweight Italian Pinot Grigio
This has the lowest calories of the four. At 52 per 125ml glass it works out at 2.5 Syns per 125ml using the online calculator.
Please bear in mind that this one isn’t on the database yet, so it may be different when if and when it is added. For this reason we do suggest you check the database regularly or contact the Syns Hotline on 09068518518
We believe this one is available in Atherstone, Bolton, Darlington and Cardiff regions.
Aldi Featherweight White Zinfandel
The Zinfandel is, from what we hear, available in the Swindon, Bathgate, Chelmsford, Neston, Goldthorpe regions.
It’s 57 calories per 125ml glass, which works out at 3 Syns using the online calculator.
As with the Pinot Grigio, please bear in mind that this one isn’t on the database yet, so it may be different when if and when it is added.
For this reason we do suggest you check the database regularly or contact the Syns Hotline on 09068518518.
