Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 566,000 members 😱 it keeps going up each week!) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly, for our Shopping Essentials list!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), but you can join up using the link below for the latest news and discussions on brand new Slimming World-friendly products.

Each week we search supermarkets and food websites to bring you a selection of new products and special offers to help you stay on plan with Slimming World.
Slimming World always recommend having 1/3 Speed Food with every meal as part of the Extra Easy plan. If you’re not sure whether your fruit and vegetable choices are Speed Foods, you can check our Speed Foods list.
If you’re a regular reader of our Shopping Essentials round up, you’ll know that we always try to include a range of Free Foods, some Speed Foods and a few exciting ways to use your Syns allowance, too!
Last week, we brought you Morrisons Wonky Veg box as our Shopping Essentials Top Pick. This week, we’ve found a great new selection of Wonky Fruit, and the even better news is that they’re mainly Speed Fruit.
Wonky Veg has become really popular, and it’s an economical choice, especially when you eat lots of vegetables.
Now Morrisons have launched a useful range of Wonky Fruit too. They may not be pretty on the outside, but once prepared, the Wonky Fruit and vegetables taste exactly the same as their aesthetically pleasing counterparts! The new range includes:
The strawberries and raspberries are £1.14 per punnet, and the other wonky fruits are priced from 58p up to 90p per pack.
Tesco Melon Plum And Blueberry
Ready to eat fruit pots offer a great grab and go option if you’re in a hurry. Most supermarkets do a range of chilled, prepared fruit salad style punnets, often including a selection of speed and free fruit.
This new, seasonal selection from Tesco is full of speed food, so it’s an ideal choice for a snack or dessert option.
Melon, plums and blueberries are all speed, so it’s really good for an SP day too!
Tesco Green Grape, Pineapple And Raspberries
Another Ready to eat fruit pot option is this Green Grape, Pineapple and Raspberries selection. This sort of thing is a great way to satisfy those hunger pangs if they strike when you’re out and about.
Eating free and Speed Foods are the best way to fill yourself up without making a dent in your precious Syns tally for the day! Step away from the guilt-filled crisps and chocolate and choose one of these instead.
Tesco Chopped Rosemary
In last week’s Shopping Essentials list, we brought you a selection from the Tesco Cooks Ingredients range.
A selection of prepared, frozen ingredients that are aimed at making cooking easier. Being able to grab just what you need from a packet of prepared vegetables or herbs without the mess and fuss.
This week, we’ve found this frozen chopped rosemary. Finely chopped, then frozen within hours to capture the peak of freshness.
You can use this to make our Syn Free Balsamic Glazed Pork.
Tesco Chopped Dill
Dill is a herb that is often overlooked, but it works amazingly in fish dishes and really complements the flavours. It’s Syn Free, so it’s delicate flavour is perfect to add when cooking with fish
You can even use it for an impressive starter or buffet dish in our Syn Free Smoked Salmon Canapés.
Oxo Original Beef Stock Pots
The addition of a stock cube or stock pot to a recipe can make a huge difference to the flavour of the dish by enhancing the flavours of the other ingredients.
Stock cubes have been around since the year dot, but the pots are a more recent addition to the stock cupboard. (Oh dear, excuse the pun!)
These Oxo Original Beef Stock Pots are a jellified version of the traditional, foil-wrapped stock cube that we’re all familiar with.
You can use them in place of a stock cube in many recipes. Why not try using them in our gorgeous Syn Free Minced Beef Hotpot?
Frylight BBQ & Grill flavour
Whenever we need to replace oil in cooking we use Frylight. Perfect for everyday frying and cooking, it delivers exactly one calorie per spray, which makes it Syn free!
Frylight contains no artificial ingredients, is Gluten Free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Over the last few years, Frylight have added more flavours to their range, which can be used for different recipes when cooking Slimming World friendly meals.
The latest of these new flavours is this BBQ and Grill flavour, combining a dash of garlic and chilli flavours. It’s perfect for cooking meat dishes, so it would be great for our Syn Free Nando’s Peri Peri Chicken.
Lindahls Kvarg Natural 500g
In the Shopping Essentials article about a month ago, we featured the Lindahls flavoured Quark range.
The advice from Slimming World is that flavoured Quark is not okay to use on an SP day, only plain, unflavoured Quark has an P Symbol.
Happily, we found this new 500g pot of the natural Lindahl’s Quark in Asda this week. As it’s plain Quark, it counts as a P food.
If you’re a bit uncertain about how to use Quark, we have some suggestions here that will help!
Lindahls Kvarg is now available in a 500g tub from Asda, priced at £2.50.
Muller Light Dessert flavours
If you regularly buy Slimming World meals in Iceland, you’ll know that there’s always a multi-buy deal available. The offer can vary, sometimes it’s rice, or frozen fruit or vegetables, and other times it’s yogurts.
The current offer is to buy any 3 Slimming World meals and get a free 6 pack of Muller Light Fat Free Dessert Inspired Yogurts.
These come in two flavours, Lemon Tart and Apple Strudel. Muller Light Syn values have been re-evaluated by Slimming World Head Office. These now have a value of 1 Syn per pot.
Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light Tonics
If you’re a gin (or vodka) convert since starting your Slimming World journey, you’ll know that Fever-Tree are a premium range of tonic waters.
When the range was first launched, there was one ‘Light’ flavour, the original tonic water, but other flavours in the range were much higher in Syns, as they weren’t ‘Light’.
Fever-Tree have now extended their Light range and are making all flavours in a Light variety. Whilst they’re not Syn free, they are pretty low, at 1.5 Syns per 150ml can.
The Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light is available in these flavours;
- Naturally Light
The 150ml cans are perfect for a tipple and you can stay well within your Syns. The cans also means that you won’t need to waste half a bottle of flat tonic when it’s been opened for a day or two.
A pack of 8 x 150ml cans costs £3.99 in Tesco. You can find them here, on the Tesco website.
Discos Assorted Crisps
Discos are crisps that I remember from my childhood. The salt and vinegar flavour was the one that made you pull a funny face as the flavour was pretty intense.
We’ve had members of the Facebook group asking where they could get certain flavours, and it seemed that some had been discontinued…but, we bring good news!
Tesco have got this multipack listed as a new product on their website this week, with Cheese and Onion, Salt and Vinegar and Prawn Cocktail flavours.
The Cheese and Onion flavour are 6.5 Syns per bag, the Salt and Vinegar and Prawn Cocktail flavours are both 7 Syns each.
Morrisons The Best Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Rice Cakes
When it comes to Rice Cakes, I have to confess that there are times when munching through a roll of loft insulation seems preferable!
These new rice cakes from Morrisons are a bit of a game-changer! Rice cakes, half coated in dark chocolate and sprinkled with freeze-dried raspberry pieces.
I don’t know about you, but I love the combination of dark chocolate and raspberries, so these were an instant hit.
They’re already on the Syns Online database at 3.5 Syns each. A 100g pack of Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Rice cakes costs £1.50 in Morrisons.
Morrisons The Best Dark Chocolate & Mint Rice Cakes
If you’re not keen on the idea of Raspberry and Dark Chocolate, how about Mint and Dark Chocolate instead?!
Morrisons have also brought out and Chocolate and Mint version of these flavoured rice cakes. This time the rice cakes are topped with dark chocolate and mint flavoured pieces. They are on the SW database at 4 Syns each.
If you love the combination of Mint and Chocolate, these are definitely worth a try, and and they’ll save you from wasting too many Syns on a more indulgent mint/choc choice.
These Morrisons The Best Dark Chocolate and Mint Rice Cakes are available in Morrisons, priced at £1.50 for a 100g pack.
Iceland Strawberry Vienna Ice creams
Last April, almost a year ago to the day, we brought you the Iceland Vienna individual ice creams in our Shopping Essentials article. A vanilla flavour ice cream ripple dessert with chocolate layers. Think Walls Viennetta on a stick!
This week, someone posted these new Strawberry flavoured Vienna Ice Cream Lollies on the Facebook Group!
These 4 Syn treats are strawberry & vanilla flavour ice creams with chocolate flavoured layers. They will really sort out that after-dinner sweet tooth.
Iceland Bubblegum Swirl Lollies
As you’ll know if you’re a regular reader of our Shopping Essentials articles, we love ice cream and lollies! We regularly bring you news of new products that will satisfy a sweet craving without breaking the Syn bank.
These new lollies from Iceland are Bubblegum flavour milk ice lollies. I have to say at this point that bubblegum isn’t my choice of flavour, but I know lots of people, including my teenage children, absolutely love it!
Kenco Silky Irish Cream flavour
Our Shopping Essentials Top Pick from a couple of week’s back was Kenco instant flavoured coffee, in two flavours, Yummy Caramel and Nutty Hazelnut.
As I wandered around my local Asda the other night, I stopped to have a look for them and spotted this new flavour to add to the collection – Barista Edition Silky Irish Cream flavour!
If you’re a coffee drinker, you’ll know that Kenco is a premium brand when it comes to instant coffee. This new flavour claims to give you ‘All the pleasure of Irish Cream coffee, without the alcohol.’
I’ve also been thinking that this would be a really delicious addition to our Low Syn Mississippi Mud Pie Cheesecake recipe!
As the coffee is Syn free, you could even add a spot of squirty cream for the ultimate indulgence!
It’s available from Asda, priced at £3.00 for a 66g pouch.
Shopping Essentials Top pick
Our Shopping Essentials Top Pick is a featured highlight of the week! This week, we’ve chosen Yorkshire Tea Biscuit Brew.
