Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 135,000 members!) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.
So here we are, with the imaginatively named “This Weeks New Slimming World Shopping Essentials”.
You can find all of the previous weeks further down the page.
Asda Progrigio 11% ABV – 7 Syns/175ml
Asda has seen a 33 percent rise in sparkling wine sales over the past two years, thanks to the huge growth in Prosecco’s popularity.
The wine (or rather “fake Prosecco”) is made by blending the Prosecco grape with Pinot Grigio, giving it an ABV of 11%.
“Crisp, fresh and delicately floral, the fruity aromas of Progrigio are balanced by its dry profile that offers a hint of sweetness at the finish,” reads the description over on the Asda website.
“Designed to be served in a flute glass, the versatility of Progrigio also means it’s suitable as the base of a sparkling cocktail.”
Progrigio’s creation comes following warnings that Prosecco prices could soon rise by 9% – roughly 59p per bottle, which is quite a bit.
The UK Wine and Spirit Trade Association also made similar predictions due to a Brexit and potential alcohol duty increases.
Progrigio is just £5 a bottle and available at Asda.

Aldi Beef & Courgetti Bolognese – 1 Syn per Meal
Next up, we have one of Aldi’s new fresh ready meals!
It’s nice to see one of the major discounters to produce a fresh ready meal, that isn’t loaded with salt or high in fat.
The Aldi Beef & Courgetti Bolognese is available in Aldi now and priced at £1.69 each.
You could make our Low Syn Meatball Marinara instead & freeze it. Much nicer 👍
Aldi “Full of Beans” Mince (3% Fat) – Syn Free
Staying with Aldi, here we have their new 3% minced beef which is blended with beans.
Made from lean beef mince and packed with fibre-filled haricot beans, Full of Beans ‘will not only help you to feel Full of Beans but will also count towards your 5-a-day’, said a press statement.

Full of Beans is priced at £1.99/400g pack.
You could make our 0.5 Syn Meatball Marinara Sliders with it too!

The syns on these are to be confirmed but the smaller pots are Syn free.
I’m not saying these are Syn free by the way!

Alpro Dairy Free Ice Cream
Dairy free people rejoice!
Following on from last weeks new addition of Alpro Go On Soya Yogurt, we have Alpro ice creams!
These aren’t technically new to the market, they’ve been out since December, but they’re now being rolled out to all of the major supermarkets.
Alpro’s plant based ice cream is made from nature’s tastiest ingredients. It has a deliciously creamy texture without feeling too heavy, and I must say it’s really rather nice!
There are three flavours in all. Vanilla, Coconut and Hazelnut Chocolate.
The Hazelnut Chocolate is 5.5 Syns per 100ml, Coconut is 4.5 Syns per 100ml and the Vanilla is 5 Syns per 100ml.

Where Veg is the Hero!
Goodlife believe that nobody puts veg in the corner! They don’t believe in beautiful, fresh, tasty veggies simply being a bit on the side… They’re on a mission to put veg at the centre of the plate, celebrate them and applaud their natural deliciousness!
Their French Bean & Spinach Sausages with Wensleydale Cheese are made with natural ingredients and free from artificial colours and flavours.
You can grab Goodlife French Bean & Spinach Sausages from;

Lizi’s Chocolate Granola – 30g HEB
Lizi’s Granola has just been added as a new HEB.
According to the Lizzie’s website;
“Current research is saying that dark chocolate is really good for you. It contains polyphenols and, more specifically, flavenols, which may help to maintain a healthy blood pressure and promote heart health”.
So what better reason do you need for indulging in a little luxury for breakfast? Lizzie’s Belgian Chocolate granola can also be added to yoghurt or ice-cream and fresh fruit berries for a light and easy peasy dessert at the end of the day.
It’s available in most supermarkets and is just 30g for your HEB.
Monster Energy Ultra Citron Zero – Syn Free
Monster Citron is not named after a funky looking French car or Scandinavian vodka. The citron fruit is apparently, an ancient relative of modern lemons!
So in homage to all ancestors both botanical and human, Ultra Citron, is Coca-Cola’s Monster brands new take on a classic drink.
Ultra Citron’s a little sweet, a little tart, light, crisp and totally refreshing. All this with zero calories and zero sugar.
You can grab it from most major supermarkets now.
Hobnobs Mini Milk Chocolate Teacakes – 1.5 Syns Each
Mcvities have just launched these Mini Teacakes & they’re made with Mallow on an Oat and Wholemeal Base.
They’re then covered with Milk Chocolate and weigh just 7g each.
Some would say they’re not worth the 1.5 Syns each, but they’re not bad to have a couple with a cup of tea.
You can get them from most major supermarkets, and are on offer at Tesco at the moment.
