Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 434,000 members 😱 it keeps going up each week!) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.
This post contains affiliate links. Find out what this means.
This week has been another very busy one, with thousands of new members joining the group. If you’re a new member, welcome to our weekly round up of new food products and offers that we think you’ll enjoy!
Weight Watcher Low Fat White Wraps – Still an HEB Choice
You may have seen or heard comments speculating about whether the WW Wraps would still be a Healthy Extra B choice. Some eagle-eyed group members had spotted a change in nutritional information too.
Slimming World Head Office confirmed yesterday that these wraps ARE still a Healthy Extra Choice, but the Syn values have altered slightly, increasing to 6 Syns per wrap when not being used as a Healthy Extra B choice.
This means we can still make all those favourite recipes using wraps as an HEB! Corned Beef Pasty, anyone?!
We like to bring you some Speed food offers in the weekly Shopping Essentials list each week. The Slimming World plan encourages us to include at least 1/3 plate of speed foods with each meal. We have a comprehensive list of Speed Foods here.
Supermarkets such as Aldi and Lidl have a weekly offer on a range of Speed and Free foods.
These are always worth checking out, as the prices are very competitive and the selection is good.

The Pick of the Week selection from Thursday 18th January includes;
- Conference Pears – Speed food, ideal in our Low Syn Pear & Apple Baked Oats
- Asparagus -Speed food, perfect for Low Syn Mozzarella & Asparagus Stuffed Chicken

Tesco Finest Gigli Pasta
We love pasta! It’s a really versatile food, it’s filling and it’s Free on the Slimming World plan. What’s not to love?
To make things more interesting, I like to buy different pasta shapes to try. Some shapes are specifically designed to hold a sauce, like this Gigli pasta from Tesco. It’s ideal for our Syn Free Creamy Tomato Pasta.
Tesco Finest Trottole Pasta
Tesco Finest have introduced another pasta shape to their range this week. This Trottole pasta is great for sauces, which will cling to the twisted shape of the pasta pieces.
Why not try it in our Syn Free Pasta Bolognese Bake? A hearty, satisfying comfort food meal for these chilly evenings!
Tesco Red Lentil Fusilli Gluten Free
Many supermarkets are actively increasing their Gluten Free range of products, and Tesco is no exception. New to the shelves this week is this Gluten Free Red Lentil Fusilli.
Red Lentil Fusilli can be used in any dish to replace ordinary pasta. It’s a free food on the Slimming World plan, so can be enjoyed as part of a food optimised meal with 1/3 Speed food.
You should try it in our Syn Free BLT Pasta Salad for a really colourful change!
Aldi Tagliatelle with Spring Onion
My trip to Aldi this week was prompted by spotting this on the Aldi website. I was intrigued and wanted to find out more!
This dried pasta has been made with spring onion, giving it a delicate flavour. When I spoke to the manager, he said they were waiting for this to arrive in store, so I haven’t been able to sample this yet.
All dried pasta is listed as Free on the website, so this should be too, although we always suggest that you check Syn values for yourself to be totally accurate. It’s priced at £1.49 per pack.
Aldi Tagliatelle with Wild Garlic
The flavoured Aldi Tagliatelle is also available in Wild Garlic flavour. Both varieties are on the Aldi website, so I’m really looking forward to seeing this in-store soon.
This would be so tasty served with our Syn Free Spaghetti Bolognese, using the Tagliatelle instead of Spaghetti! Yum!
As mentioned above, all dried pasta is listed as Free on the website, so this should be too, although we always suggest that you check Syn values for yourself to be totally accurate.
It’s priced at £1.49 per pack.
Young’s Simply Bake Florentine Fish
The Young’s brand is well-known for quality frozen fish products. Unfortunately, they’re often not suitable if you’re following the Slimming World plan, with crumb coatings that are definitely not low in Syns!
We love fish, and you’ll have probably heard our mantra previously…If it swims, it slims!
Youngs Simply Bake Florentine Fish is a tasty, convenient product to have in the freezer for those evenings when you just don’t have time to cook from scratch.
You get two chunky fish portions of 100% pollock fillet, in a Cheese & Spinach Sauce, topped with Cheese.
Young’s Simply Bake Mediterranean Fish
We already know that fish is a great choice for Slimming World meals. One of my favourite meals is this Syn Free Chilli and Lime Baked Salmon.
If you don’t fancy the spinach in the Young’s Florentine bake, you could try this Young’s Mediterranean Fish bake instead.
Two Pollock Fillet Portions in a Cheddar Cheese Sauce with Sun-Dried Tomato & Mozzarella Crumb Topping.
It’s another quick and easy option when you’re pushed for time. You don’t even need to heat the oven! The Young’s Simply Bake range can also be cooked in the microwave.
The Young’s Simply Bake Mediterranean Fish is from Tesco, priced at £3.00, and each portion is 6 Syns.
Aldi Whole Cornish Sardines
I popped into my local Aldi last night and as I had no children to distract me, or fill my trolley with items I didn’t want, I had a browse around.
These Aldi Whole Cornish Sardines are new in the freezer section. There are two varieties, the ones pictured here are plain Whole Cornish Sardines, which are Free on the app.
However, there’s also a yellow box of the Cornish Sardines which have a lemon and black pepper butter. (Make sure you don’t get those by mistake!)
These Aldi Whole Cornish Sardines cost just 99p.
Sainsbury’s Caramelised Onion Shroomdogs
In the first Shopping essentials guide of 2018, we brought you news of a new Vegetarian range from Sainsbury’s. Some of the products hadn’t made it into stores when I looked for them then, but happily the shelves are now stocked!
These Caramelised Onion Shroomdogs, mushroom and red onion chutney sausages, are a tasty sounding option for vegetarians.
They’re in the fruit and vegetable aisle, with the prepared vegetables.
This pack of 6 Sainsbury’s Caramelised Onion Shroomdogs costs £2.50 and they’re 4 Syns each on the SW Syns Online app.
Sainsbury’s Cumberland Shroomdogs
There are two varieties of Shroomdogs now available in Sainbury’s. As well as the delicious-sounding Caramelised Onion flavour, you can also choose the Cumberland Shroomdogs!
These Cumberland Shroomdogs are described as ‘Vibrant and peppery vegetarian mushroom sausages’.
The Cumberland Shroomdogs can be grilled, or shallow fried using frylight. You could even use them to make our Low Syn Sausage Casserole!

Sainsbury’s Roasted Cauliflower Steaks
The new Sainsbury’s vegetarian range continues to grow, and stock is now more widely available.
This week I found these Roasted Cauliflower Steaks in the prepared veg chiller on the fruit and veg aisle.
The pack contains two Cauliflower steaks in a herb and spice chimichurri marinade. The Cauliflower steaks are roasted in the oven for 25 minutes, turning halfway through.
Sainsbury’s Roasted Cauliflower Steaks cost £2.00 per pack from Sainsbury’s. They’re 1 Syn each on the Slimming World Syns Online app.
a2 Semi Skimmed Milk
We all love a good cuppa, or a decent coffee in the morning! I’m certainly guilty of using my HEA choice on several large coffees to keep me going through the day. You can use your Healthy Extra A choice in this way as long as your milk is measured.
Your Healthy Extra Milk Allowance is as follows;
- Whole milk – 175mls
- Semi-skimmed – 250mls
- 1% fat milk – 300mls
- Skimmed milk – 350mls
a2 Semi Skimmed milk is a Fresh British Pasteurised Filtered Semi-Skimmed Milk, so you can have 250mls as your HEA choice every day.
This particular brand says that it is ‘naturally gentle on sensitive tummies’. This also appears to be backed up by customer reviews on the Sainsbury’s website.
a2 Semi Skimmed milk is available from Sainsbury’s priced at £1.35 per litre.

Glaceau Smart Water Sparkling Green Apple
We all know how important it is to drink plenty of water when we’re following Slimming World. Sometimes tap water can seem very unappealing, so it’s good to know that there are lots of thirst-quenching alternatives.
Glaceau spring waters have been around for a while in still and sparkling variety, but they have now introduced a flavoured version.
Glaceau Smart Water Sparkling Green Apple is sparkling spring water that has been vapour distilled with apple, giving it a hint of fruit flavour.

Walkers Baked Fusions Tomato And Herb Snacks
We first featured these Walkers Baked Fusions in our Shopping Essentials list last June. As these are baked, rather than fried, they’re lower in Syns than standard crisps. A Spicy Tomato and Herbs Flavour Baked Potato Snack, with real ingredients baked in and topped with a fusion of irresistible flavours.
Walkers have now introduced a bigger 35g bag which work out at 7.5 Syns on the Syns calculator.

Mr Kipling Smashing Strawberry Slices
There are times when we all need a sweet, tasty treat, and sometimes only cake will do! Mr Kipling have been making a yummy range of cakes since 1967, so it’s safe to say that they’re popular and very much a household name.
These new Mr Kipling Smashing Strawberry Slices are strawberry flavoured sponge cake fingers with strawberry puree, and they’re finished with pink icing. They have 30% less sugar than Mr Kipling Angel Slices.
Of course, if you wanted to, you could make your own Low Syn Mini Strawberry Sponges!
