Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 233,000 members 😱 it keeps going up each week!), one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.
Lots of drinks this week, which should keep the kids occupied when they break up for the summer holidays!

Morrisons Blush Pears – Speed Food
We were in Morrisons this week and came across these Blush Pears. They’re best eaten when they are firm, but not hard.
The pack says they are ripe and ready, but leave them to ripen a bit more if they’re a little hard.
When they’re just ripe enough they are tangy, crisp, sweet and perfect for adding to a salad, either chopped or grated.
A pack of 4 will cost you £2.00 from Morrisons, but the price may vary from other supermarkets that are also stocking them.
Asda Sparkling Water
We’re always being told that an important part of the Slimming World plan is drinking plenty throughout the day.
On a really hot day, I can easily gulp down a bottle of chilled water, but there are times when I need something a bit more interesting!
After all, although it’s healthy, water can just seem a bit boring. Sometimes that might mean a can of fizzy pop, but they’re not quite so refreshing.
Earlier this week, when the sun was cracking the flags, I headed to Asda for my weekly shop, where I spotted these!
There are a plethora of flavoured waters available these days, but I really liked the sound of these.
So far, I’ve tried the Orange and Mandarin and the Blackberry and Elderflower.
Really refreshing! Plus points are that the drinks have no artificial flavours or sweeteners. They are also available in Lemon & lime and Cucumber & Mint.
They come in two different sized bottles; 550ml for 79p and 1 litre for £1!
They’re not on the database yet, but at 1 calorie per 100mls, we can be pretty certain that they’ll be Syn-Free!
We mentioned Rio Light a while back and we’ve had a number of people asking for some more info…..so here it is.
Old Jamaica EXTRA fiery ginger beer Zero
Old Jamaica Ginger Beer has been around for as long as I can remember! It was one of those drinks I really didn’t like when I was younger, but I enjoy it now.
I was delighted to find out that Old Jamaica have produced a sugar free addition to their range of Ginger Beer drinks.
Just as much heat and intensity as their original ginger beer. As it’s sugar free, it’s also Syn Free!
It’s being launched in two sizes; 330ml for 49p and 500ml for 89p.
Mission Deli Cheese Mini Wraps
These cheese flavour tortilla wraps are currently available in Tesco, and they come in packs of 6.
Now, we’ve not had chance to get hold of these yet, so we don’t know exactly how small a mini wrap is, so we’re not entirely sure if they’re worth the 4.5 Syns per wrap.
We also don’t know if they’re suitable for making pasties!!!
They’re not in the database yet, so this was worked out using the online calculator, so it may change if and when they are given an official Syn value.
Talking of pasties, the Princes Lean Corned Beef for the 1 Syn Corned Beef Pasties is currently on roll back at Asda, so you can pick a can up for less than the original price of £2.49.
We’re not sure how much this is after Rollback as prices may vary in stores.
Tesco Omelette Wraps
If you’re looking for a quick alternative to a sandwich or wrap then these might be right up your street.
They’re not on the database yet as SW are currently looking into the food allowance for these, so the Syns are TBC. As soon as we hear more we’ll update accordingly.
There are 3 different varieties to choose from;
Tesco Smoked Ham And Egg Omelette Wrap
These are egg, smoked ham, tomato, carrot, full fat soft cheese, crème fraîche and spinach all wrapped up in an omelette.
Tesco Fajita Chicken Omelette Wrap
This omelette wrap is filled with spiced chicken and soured cream, spiced mixed bean sauce, red pepper, lettuce and Mexicana Cheddar cheese with mixed peppers and chilli.
Tesco Aloo Gobi Omelette Wrap
This one is suitable for vegetarians, and contains roasted spiced cauliflower and sweet potato with a yogurt and herb dressing, curry sauce, spinach, red peppers and mango wrapped up in an omelette.
Nairns Gluten Free Snackers
You may remember, we covered the Nairns Gluten Free Salt and Vinegar Snackers a couple of weeks ago, and this week we’ve got 2 more flavours for you. Gluten Free Smoked Paprika and Gluten Free Cheese.
As with the Salt and Vinegar ones, you get 5 mini bags in a pack, and both varieties are on the database at 5 Syns per 23g bag.
You can get the cheese ones from Sainsbury’s and Morrisons, and the paprika ones are only available in Sainsbury’s. Both varieties are also available in some independent health stores.
Go Ahead Crunchy Dippers
Snacks are always a temptation when you’re following Slimming World. Here at Pinch of Nom, we’ve always got our eyes peeled for something that little bit different to spend our Syns on.
My most vulnerable time of day is the evening, how about you? When I finally get to sit down, it’s all too easy to reach for a high Syn snack.
If I haven’t saved my Healthy Extra for baked oats, or a couple of HiFi bars, I’m in trouble, and a cupboard raid is on the cards!
Go Ahead have brought out a new range of sweet treats, which hit the spot! You’ll have to have a few Syns to spare though.
All of these are available from Tesco at £1.99.
Go Ahead Cocoa and Almond Crunchy Dippers
If your a fan of Nutella these might be one to try. Mini breadsticks with a chocolate and almond dip. They’re available from Tesco, Asda, they’re are on the database for 7 Syns each, and you get 4 in a box.
Go Ahead Salted Caramel Crunchy Dipper
The Salted Caramel Go Ahead Dippers are available from Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda. They are mini breadsticks with a salted caramel dip, and they are on the database for 7 Syns a pack. As with the Cocoa and Almond ones you get 4 in a box.
Go Ahead Creamy Coconut Crunchy Dipper
The Coconut and Vanilla ones are available in Tesco and Sainsbury’s, and they are on the database at 7.5 Syns a pack, which is a little more than the other varieties. Again there are 4 packs in a box.
Go Ahead Crispy Apple And Sultana Slices
Go Ahead have always had a foot in the door of the snack foods market. These crispy slices have been around for a long time, but they’re worth another mention!
Delicious sultana and apple flavoured filling in a light crispy biscuit. Perfect with a cup of tea.
At 3 Syns per slice, they’ll curb a sweet tooth. One word of warning though, you get 3 slices in an individual portion, and six portions per packet!
These Crispy slices are usually £1.99 per pack, but are currently on offer in Tesco at half price, 99p per pack, until 01.08.17. Bargain! (Delivery offer only)
Go Ahead Crispy Raspberry Slices
Sitting alongside the Sultana and Apple slices, you’ll find the Crispy Raspberry slices. These have a delicious sultana and raspberry flavoured filling in a light crispy biscuit.
The combination of the crispy biscuit and the chewy centre works so well together, you get that yummy crunch to begin with, then that combines with the chewy fruit filling.
So good, but moreish, so maybe you should share a pack with a friend!
Tesco have these slices on offer for 99p until 01.08.17, after which, they’ll revert to their normal selling price of £1.99 per pack. (Delivery offer only)
Go Ahead Crispy Forest Fruit Slices
Finally in this range, there are the Go Ahead Crispy Forest Fruit Slices.
The filling in these slices is sultana and berry. As with the other Crispy Slices, these come in at 3 Syns per slice.
Marks & Spencer Guilt Free Snacking
We’ve been really impressed with the number of Slimming World friendly products that M&S have brought us over the past few months.
This week, we have 3 new additions to the Guilt Free Snacking range, all of which cost £2.50 for a pack containing 5 individual bags.
All of them are on the database already, and the you’ll find the Syn values for each one below.
Mini Milk Chocolate Coated Pretzels
These Mini Salted Pretzels coated in creamy chocolate are the best value for money Syn wise, as they are only 4.5 per 20g bag.
Belgian Milk Chocolate Mini Corn & Rice Cakes
At 123 calories for a 25g bag these milk chocolate coated corn and brown rice cakes are 6 Syns a bag.
Salted Caramel Popcorn
If you’re a popcorn fan (we are!) you’ll love this salted caramel coated popcorn with a drizzle of Belgian chocolate. Each 25g bag will cost you 6 Syns, and we reckon it’s definitely worth it!
How to make Slimming World Treat Bags
With all these individual snacks – they’re perfect to pop in a treat bag!
Some of you like to make up treat bags or trays to enjoy in the evenings. We’ve got some ideas here.
Goodness Knows – New product launch from Mars!
Mars Chocolate UK has announced the launch of Goodness Knows, a wholesome cereal snack bar containing whole nuts, rolled oats, fruit and dark chocolate.
This new snack bar will be available in three delicious sounding flavour combinations; Cranberry & Almond, Blueberry & Almond and Apple, Peanut & Almond.
When I saw this announcement, I got very excited! We won’t have to wait too long either, apparently they’ll be rolled out to shops from mid-August.
We don’t have accurate nutritional details yet, so we can’t put them through the Syns calculator, but we’re hoping that they’ll be between 7 – 8 Syns per bar.
Aldi Slow Cooked BBQ Pork Fillet
You’ll find this Slow Cooked BBQ Pork Fillet in the chilled section of Aldi.
It’s a tender pork fillet coated in spices and smothered in a BBQ flavour sauce, and it’s already on the database at 0.5 Syns per 100g.
