Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 161,000 members 😱 it keeps going up each week!) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.
This week we’ve got lots of new products that are perfect for the weather warming up, and Summer rolling in. I’m excited, are you?
Syn Free Easter Hummus Pots – Syn Free
First up is a shameless plug – you should all add a food processor and some plant pots to your list! These Syn Free Easter Hummus Pots are FAB!
Ben & Jerrys – Son of a Wich – 4 Syns Each
Technically these aren’t a new product, they actually launched last year. But, supermarkets tend to keep certain seasonal products on a rotation, and ice cream, rather unsurprisingly is one of them.
These are seriously delicious, and a firm favourite in the summer months as a rare treat.
One thing you mustn’t confuse them with is the full sized “Wich”. There is a BIG difference in Syn values.
The full sized “Wich” come in at 11 Syns for one. Wow! So don’t confuse them.
Ben & Jerry’s Wich and Son of a Wich are available in most supermarkets now.
Tesco Micro Veg – Carrots, Romanesco & Green Beans – Syn Free
We love some nice frozen veg, but most frozen veg like peas and sweetcorn don’t count as speed foods. Either that, or some are coated in oil. Boo hiss!
Tesco has brought out a new range of “Micro Veg”, which has to be the most unique frozen veg we’ve seen in a while.
Romanesco Cauliflowers are SO expensive fresh, I’m over the moon Tesco have brought these out. You get 4 little pouches in the bag too, so you can pop them straight in the microwave.
There are a few other varieties in the new range too, including the Broccoli, Sweet Potato, Beetroot & Kale bags.
I’m really looking forward to these arriving on my weekly shop tomorrow!
There are also a couple of other varieties, but they have oil in the ingredients list, so no doubt will be Synned.
You can grab these Micro Veg bags from Tesco and they cost £1.50 a bag.
They’d be fab with our 1 Syn Corned Beef Hash!
Angel Delight Pots – 4-4.5 Syns Per Pot
There are a few people who have been raving about these in our Facebook Group over the last week, and to be honest I didn’t think they were new.
It turns out that they were “re-launched” earlier in March, and due to their popularity I think they deserve some space here.
These Angel Delight pots come in 4 flavours;
Angel Delight Ready to Eat Dessert, Strawberry (70g pot) 4 Syns
Angel Delight Ready to Eat Dessert, Chocolate (70g pot) 4½ Syns
Angel Delight Ready to Eat Dessert, Butterscotch (70g pot) 4 Syns
Angel Delight Ready to Eat Dessert, Banana (70g pot) 4 Syns
All of them with the exception of Chocolate are just 4 Syns a pot. The Chocolate flavour is 4.5 Syns per pot. How fab is that!?
You can get hold of them in Sainsbury’s, Tesco (5 for £2 – thanks Julie) and Asda (on offer at 50p each – thanks Jenny!) only for now, but no doubt they’ll appear elsewhere soon.
Figs – New Season – Syn Free But Not Speed!
Ooooo I love figs. They’re one of my favourite fruits. They’re pretty much on offer everywhere at the moment too.
If you’ve never had a fig before you are missing out. Sweet, juicy and so perfect with a small drizzle of honey. Heaven!
Just be aware that they’re a free food and not a super speed food. I was rather gutted when I found this out.
You can grab them in most supermarkets, for no more than £2 a punnet.
Muller Lights – Apple & Elderflower – Syn Free
I’d literally just posted last weeks Slimming World Shopping Essentials and Muller Light decided to post another new flavour. So here it is!
Apple and Elderflower Muller Light is part of the “Summer Inspired” range, and are Syn free!
You can also grab multipacks of 2 other flavours; Summer Berries & Raspberry & Peach.
They’re slowly making their way into supermarkets, but with all new things, these things take a while. Keep your eyes peeled!
You could make some our Syn Free Strawberry Waffles with these too – lush!
Tesco Fat-Free Pineapple Cottage Cheese – Syn Free
Before I started Slimming world, I’d get a packet of black pepper Seabrook crisps and dip them in Pineapple Cottage Cheese.
I’m one of those odd people who could eat pineapple on everything, Even pizza haha.
I love a bit of cottage cheese on some crispbreads for an afternoon snack. I much prefer cottage cheese with pineapple in over ordinary cottage cheese.
Sad thing is that most of the Cottage Cheese with pineapple in carried Syns. Boooo hoo.
So I’d buy some fresh pineapple and add it in to avoid the dreaded Syns – well not any more. Tesco’s Fat-Free Cottage Cheese with Pineapple is now Syn free! Hurrah!!
M&S Mango And Coconut Chicken Flatties – 0.5 Syns Each
We think these may have been out for a while now, but I’ve never seen them before so they’re new to me!
These are the sort of thing that would be sooo nice on the BBQ as well as in the oven!
We’ve got some more goodies from M&S too…
M&S Percy and Penny Biscuits
Percy Pigs aren’t exactly friendly, but these Percy and Penny biscuits are slightly more so.
They’re not long out, so they may take a little while to see them in your local M&S but they will get there!
You can be sure you’ll need to fight the kids to get hold of these for sure.
M&S Chocolate Button Biscuits – 2.5 Syns Each
More biscuits but this time just 2.5 syns each. Oh YES!
They’ll look a little less silly in the trolley than the Percy biscuits (above) unless you have kids. They’re altogether a little more “grown-up”.
They’re cheap too – less than £3 a pack!
Frijj Choco Hazelnut – Syns Unconfirmed
Following the revelation of Frijj Zero launching soon, we have Frijj Choco Hazelnut!
All that we know so far is that they’re out in April, but as soon as we get more info we’ll let you know!
Hopefully, with the sugar being reduced, the Syns will be too!
