Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 180,000 members 😱 it keeps going up each week!), one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.
This week we’ve got lots of new products that are perfect for the weather warming up, and Summer rolling in ☀️ Drinks, ice creams and soooo much more!
Morrisons Wonky Asparagus – Speed Food
Did you know that Asparagus is one of the UKs most expensive vegetables?
Thanks to the warm start to the Spring some of the the UKs Asparagus crops have grown ‘wonky’ instead of the usual straight spears.
Morrisons have taken advantage of this and have started selling 180g packs of ‘wonky’ asparagus for £1.00.
Yes £1.00!! 😱
It’s great grilled or sautéed in some Butter Frylight, or you could try using it in our Syn Free Creamy Salmon and Asparagus Pasta recipe.
This asparagus is just one of a range of imperfect vegetables sold by Morrisons, including potatoes, carrots, onions and parsnips.
Tesco Frozen Chargrilled Aubergine – Speed Food
If you’re anything like us you’ll hate waste, so sometimes the frozen option can be the best!
These aubergine slices are great for that extra boost of speed, and so handy to always have in, ready prepared, in the freezer.
They’re Syn Free and available from Tesco at £1.00 for a 400g bag.
You could use them to make this gorgeous Slimming World friendly Syn Free Moussaka recipe!

We know these have been out for a while now – but our favourite online shop now has them in stock and at just £1.49 a bottle! So now you can add some of these on when you buy one of our amazing hampers!
Crucials sauces are so low in Syns it’s pretty ridiculous just how low they are! They’re also available in 1l bottles, which means they last quite a while. Such good value for money.
Some of them are a little spicy mind, so make sure to take a look at the chilli ratings on the bottle.
I adore the Sweet Chilli sauce, it’s one of the best Sweet Chilli sauces about for the price, and the Caribbean BBQ is really nice too. It’s got a good kick!
You could use the sweet chilli on our Sweet Chilli Chicken With Rainbow Salad.
All of the Syn values are available on Syns Online.
Oasis Light has rebranded to Oasis Zero.
They will still contain zero calories and are low in sugar, and they will also remain free of artificial colours and include only natural flavourings.
Citrus Punch Zero is the new addition to the range and you can get it from Ocado for £1.25, and best of all it’s Syn Free!!
No doubt it’ll be seen in other supermarkets very soon.
Bud Light – 6 Syns A Can
Whilst not a new product as such (the bottles have been around for a while now), these 440ml cans are new.
Budweiser is a perfectly balanced light body lager with a hint of sweetness. It’s pale golden colour is accompanied by a floral aroma and slightly hoppy, slightly malty and fresh yeasty notes.
The Beechwood aging process produces a light bodied lager with a refreshing taste, a crisp, clean finish, and a smooth drinkability. Basically, we tried it, liked it and drank half the box 😂
Bud light has all the flavour of regular Bud, but at 3.5% ABV it is lower in alcoholic content, and therefore lower in Syns.
Each 440ml can is 6.5 Syns as opposed to 6 Syns for a smaller 330ml bottle of regular Budweiser!
You can pick them up from Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose and Ocado. They come in packs of 18, 10 or 4 and the price may vary depending on where you buy it from and who has the best offers.
Tesco Micro Grains Chickpea, Bulgur Wheat and Mixed Vegetables – 1.5 Syns A Sachet
These are super easy to prepare. Just pop them in the microwave for 3 and a half to 4 minutes.
Each pack contains 4 150g bags of grilled vegetables (Courgette, Aubergine, Red Pepper, Yellow Pepper, Onion) chickpeas, bulgur wheat, couscous and apricots coated in a spiced seasoning with tomato puree and olive oil.
This one has been on the app for a few weeks now, so it is confirmed at 1.5 Syns per individual bag.
Tesco Micro Grains Fragrant Couscous
These also come in 4 individual bags, containing Couscous with Red Pepper, Aubergine, Spring Onion, chickpeas, herbs and spices, and they are super easy to prepare.
We don’t know the Syn value of these yet as it’s not going to be straight forward to work out using the calculator due to there being more than one ingredient that attracts a free food allowance.
We will update you as soon as we have some more information.
Waitrose 8 Smoked Dry Cured Extra Lean Bacon Medallions – Free Food
Produced from British pork these bacon medallions are less watery and with all the visible fat removed they are Syn Free.
Why not try them in our Syn Free Bacon, Potato and Onion Bake?
You can pick them up from Ocado or Waitrose and they are £3.49 for a 200g pack.
If you’re not a fan of smoked bacon you can get the unsmoked medallions from Waitrose for the same price.
Morrisons Breakfast Fruit Topper – Free Food
A combination of strawberries, peach, pineapple and mango makes this a perfect addition to your breakfast.
They’re great for topping porridge, using in overnight oats or you could even throw a handful or two into our baked oats recipe (but don’t forget to add the extra Syns if you’re going to cook the fruit.
You’ll find these in the freezer section of Morrison for around £1.46.
Coldpress Sparkling Waters – 3 Syns
Coldpress, well known for their juices and smoothies, have expanded their range by adding some new sparkling waters as an alternative to mainstream fizzy drinks.
The waters have just 64 calories in each 250ml bottle, which makes them 3 Syns for the whole bottle.
They are available in 2 different flavours;
- Strawberry, Apple & Watermelon
- Raspberry, Pineapple, Apple & Pear
You can pick them up in Boots, but they should be more widely available very soon.
Tilda Caribbean Rice & Peas
An authentic Caribbean Rice & Peas recipe combining rich coconut, hearty beans and a flavoursome chilli kick!
This isn’t available until June and looking at the nutritional information they’ll be in the region of 5.5 Syns a pack.
It looks like it will be a great accompaniment to our Syn Free Jamaican Oxtail Stew.
If you can’t wait until June you could always try making your 1 Syn Rice and Peas.
Merangz Drops – Syns To Be Confirmed
Flower & White has added to its Merangz collection by launching Meringue Drops.
Available in three flavours:
- White Chocolate & Raspberry
- Rainbow Fruit
The products are made using British free range eggs and natural flavours, which are whisked up and slow-baked to create light and airy meringues.
As well as being fat free and low in fat, they are also suitable for vegetarians, and naturally gluten free.
Merangz Meringue Drops will be available in 100g boxes, with an RRP of £2.95. They will be available via Flower & White’s website and then across the UK from June.
We’re hoping the Syn values of these will be pretty low!
M&S BBQ Meats
M&S Teriyaki Beef Skewers – 1 Syn Each
You can’t beat a kebab straight off the BBQ!
These Teriyaki Beef Skewers are pieces of beef coated with a sweet and sticky Teriyaki glaze, then threaded on a skewer.
You get 4 skewers in a pack and they work out at 1 Syn each. They’re available on the 3 for £10 offer along with the Arrabbiata Chicken Flatties.
You could of course make our Syn Free Beef Kofta Kebabs instead!
M&S Arrabbiata Chicken Flatties – 0.5 Syns Each
These flattened pieces of chicken breast are flavoured with a Chilli and Herb Rub and a Roasted Red Pepper Sauce.
They’re great for BBQs, and at 0.5 Syns a piece they won’t break the Syn bank.
They have a 2 Chilli rating so they’re not too spicy!
They’re available on the 3 for £10 offer along with the Teriyaki Beef Skewers.
Crusha Banana Sugar Free – 0.5 Syns / 25ml
I don’t know about you but I adore banana milkshake!
The sugar free strawberry Crusha has been available for a while now, but a banana flavour has joined the Crusha family.
At just half a Syn per 25ml (you only need 25ml to make a “serving”), it’s pretty good value for Synnage!
You can get it in Asda at the moment, and no doubt other supermarkets will follow soon.

It seems that Protein Food Shop is the place to be for Slimmers this Summer!
They’ve got the following flavours in stock;
These Skinny Syrups are divine drizzled over our Syn Free Pancakes
Or even our Syn Free Strawberry and Vanilla Waffles 😍
Aldi Alcohol Ice Popsicles – Prosecco & Peach Bellini 3 Syns Each
It looks like alcoholic ice lollies are going to be a big thing this Summer.
We featured some a few weeks ago, and this week we have these Prosecco & Peach Bellini from Aldi.
They’re are a whopping 4.5% ABV, which is pretty good for an ice lolly!
There are also these Gin & Tonic Ice pops that are also 3 Syns each!!
As they are new, they’re not on the app yet, but going by the nutritional information on the pack they work out at 3 Syns each.
But, bear in mind this could change if and when they are given an official Syn value.
