Over in our Facebook group (where we now have nearly 130,000 members!) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature. So here we are, with the imaginatively named “This Weeks New Slimming World Shopping Essentials”. You can find last week’s over here.

Kingsmill Hi Fibre White Bread – 2 Slices = HEB + 2 Syns

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

Kingsmill Hi Fibre White bread is replacing Kingsmill Great White & like it’s predecessor there is a big debate about whether it can count as your Healthy Extra or not.

So we got in touch with Slimming World for a definitive answer… and here’s what we got back;

This product is not an official Slimming World Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice as one slice has too little fibre and two slices are too high in calories.

We are aware that some members may choose to weigh an exact 60g portion of Hi Fibre White, which does contain the correct nutritional proportions to be a Healthy Extra ‘b’, but this may cause some bread to be wasted so it’s up to you if you want to do this.

We haven’t added a 60g measure of Hi Fibre White to the official Healthy Extra lists as it’s not easy to divide this weight into the pre-cut slices.

Similarly, we know some members are choosing 2 medium (38g) slices of Hi Fibre White as their Healthy Extra ‘b’ and counting an extra 2 Syns. Again, as this isn’t a straight forward measurement, we wouldn’t recommend this but it’s entirely up to you if you want to.

So it’s entirely up to you if you want to use it as a HEB, but you can if you want to!

Kingsmill Great white would make our BLT Club Sandwich ever better than it is already!

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3/2/17

You can get Kingsmill Hi Fibre White bread from Tesco, Sainsbury’s and some of the other major supermarkets.

Kingsmill Hi Fibre White is priced at around £1.00 per 750g loaf.

Warburtons Brown Toastie Pockets – 6.5 Each

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

Sticking with the bread theme, Warburtons have brought out these rather ingenious Toastie Pockets.

There’s has been a lot of debate over the last week as to whether you can use them as your HEB. No, they don’t count as your HEB!

They are 6.5 syns each, which to me is still worth it, especially as an alternative breakfast.

You can get Warburtons Toastie Pockets from most major supermarkets.

Morrisons Eat Smart “Counted” Cumberland Sausages – 0.5 Syns Each

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217Another week, another new sausage! Morrisons have added these Butcher’s Style Cumberland Sausages to their “Counted” range.

Boasting 70% reduced fat, and just 145kcal per 2 sausages they look really rather nice.

We’ve not had chance to try them yet, so can’t vouch if they’re any good or not. Perhaps a nice alternative if you can’t get your mitts on some Porky Lights?

They’re just 0.5 Syns per sausage, and come in packs of 8 priced at £1.78 per pack.

Morrisons Eat Smart “Counted” Pork Sausages – 1 Syn Each

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

Another week, another new sausage! These Pork sausages are joining the Cumberland Sausages in Morrisons “Counted” range.

Boasting 70% reduced fat, and just 154kcal per 2 sausages they look really rather nice.

We’ve not had chance to try them yet, so can’t vouch if they’re any good or not. Perhaps a nice alternative if you can’t get your mitts on some Porky Lights?

They’re just 1 Syn per sausage, and come in packs of 8 priced at £1.78 per pack.

M&S Turmeric Chicken Salad Bites – 0.5 Syns Each

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

I adore going to M&S for lunch, and these salad bites are amazing!!

M&S brought these out last summer, in Pork & Beef, but now they’re adding Turmeric Chicken to the range.

I love Vietnamese spring rolls, and these are a fab alternative. They’re wrapped in Mooli, and Mooli = speed! You even get a little dip to dip them in.

You can grab the full range of Salad bites from M&S for a pack.

Sugar Free Fruittella Fruit Gums 80g – 3 Syns 20g serving

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

We included the Fruittella Fruit Foams in last week’s round up, and here we have Fruit Gums!

Naturally sweetened with the extract of stevia leaves, each foam and gum is full of flavours with absolutely no sugar and no artificial sweeteners.

You needn’t worry that Fruittella’s trade-mark deliciously fruity taste will have been compromised, as the gums are packed with natural flavours!

The bags are 80g and 20g of these is 3 Syns.

I must warn you though, that if you consume too many, they may cause laxative effects.

You can get them in most supermarkets, and are on offer as they’ve just come out.

Aldi Brooklea Greek Yogurt 0% – Syn free

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

This yogurt is incredibly similar to the Fage 0% in taste and texture, but certainly not in price!

At just 99p, it’s an absolute steal! It’s not available in all Aldi’s yet, so you might need to try a few stores to find them.

You could even use it in our Syn Free Strawberry & Vanilla Waffles – perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Mallow & Marsh Coconut Marshmallow Bar – 4 Syns Each

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

A classically coconut marshmallow!

It is great on its own, but for a true gourmet marshmallow experience dip one in live yoghurt or a devilish chocolate sauce.

You can even use it instead of cream with your deserts. Please note there is no cream in the marshmallow itself, just a cream like texture.

The perfect afternoon pick me up and at just 4 syns for the whole bar – it’s a bargain. You can check where they’re available on the Mallow & Marsh website.

Tesco Bircher Muesli Base Mix – 40g HEB/7 Syns

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

If you’re an avid Muesli fan, you’ll know that the Bircher Muesli was recently removed as a HEB. Boooooooo.

You’ll be pleased to know that it’s been re-added! You can have 40g as your HEB or 7 Syns instead.

Arla Lactofree Mature Cheddar – 30g HEA/6 Syns

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

We included the Arla Lactofree Mild Cheddar in last weeks round-up and here we have it’s more mature cousin.

Arla Lactofree Mature Cheddar is the first lactofree cheese available as your HEA on Slimming World. Arla Lactofree Mature Cheddar is 30g for your HEA or 6 syns.

From what we’ve heard, it tastes pretty nice & is available in most supermarkets.

Lidl Silvercrest Waffle Maker – £9.99

New Slimming World Shopping Essentials - 3217

Silvercrest products have never let us down, and this has to be one of the best looking waffle makers I’ve seen in a while. It reminds me a lot of the JM Posner one that we recommend!

This Silvercrest Waffle Maker is available in Lidl stores from the 29th of Jan for just £9.99. A Perfect gift for Valentines Day!

You could even use it to make some FAB 1 Syn Potato waffles!

  1. Thanks for theses. So handy. Saw this yesterday and took a trip to lidl. Now the proud owner of a waffle maker. Can’t wait to try it. 😁

  2. Thanks for the weekly essentials. I live in Colorado, and REALLY wish we could get this for products we can actually get our hands on in America.

    Thanks again.

  3. Malone Guthrie, I totally understand. I am from the UK but for the last 7 months I have lived in California. I am finding it much harder to do slimming world out here without my normal products to hand 😔 I am in no way good enough to take what I know and use it to try and figure syns in American equivalents of items. I find that so frustrating. American products are sooooo different, to me at least.

  4. I think I’m being a bit dumb but are the m&s chicken bites 0.5 per ‘bite’ or 0.5 per pack? You wouldn’t just eat one is what I’m thinking!

  5. Hi, is it just me or is 6.5 syns a lot for the toastie pockets? I’ve just had two for breakfast and that’s 13 syns! I assumed they’d only be a few syns each!

    1. Hi Alex
Syns are there to be used on whatever people choose to use them on. Some people don’t mind using 6 or 7 syns on something like the toastie pockets, some people do. We make sure all the Syn values are clearly stated in these articles so people are free to make those choices. We also make it clear that Syn values given are correct at time of writing but may not always be accurate, and it’s also advised by SW that Syn values are always checked before you eat them.
