Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 316,000 members 😱 it keeps going up each week!) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.

Sliced Butternut Squash
We’re all aware that Speed vegetables are an integral part of the Slimming World plan. I’m sure my own consultant isn’t the only one to say, ‘The more speed you choose, the more weight you’ll lose!’
We have a list of Speed Foods on the website to help you.
Asda have just added a very useful Sliced Butternut Squash pack to their chilled prepared vegetable range.
If you’ve ever tried to peel and chop a Butternut Squash, you’ll know that it’s not easy!
That said, it’s an incredibly versatile vegetable, we have lots of recipes on the Pinch of Nom website!
You could use it to make our wonderful 2 Syn Chicken Korma Curry.
These are also ideal for making vegetable chips, if you don’t want to use potatoes.
You could even make our Syn Free Butternut Squash Risotto.
This sliced Butternut Squash is from Asda, priced at £1.00 for a 300g pack.
Tesco Frozen Winter Mix
Now that the clocks have gone back, we’ve got to admit that times are changing for seasonal fruits and vegetables too.
Fresh summer fruits such as strawberries and raspberries are now being imported, which makes them much more expensive.
There are so many great choices when it comes to fruits, but sometimes it’s hard to know which are free and which are Speed. If you’re not sure, check our Speed Food list here.
We’ve found this fab combination of Frozen Winter Fruits, Apple, Blackberry and Plum, which are all Speed fruits.
A perfect seasonal choice, with the added convenience of being frozen, so no waste either!
How about using this mix with some warming spices in our Low Syn Apple Crumble for a wintery twist?
It’s great value at £2.00 for a 500g bag.
Protein Food Shop are launching a new 5% Hamper for just £25!
Slimming World classify meat of 5% fat or less, and all visible fat removed, as Syn free, so this is the perfect opportunity to fill your freezer with quality, free range, British meat at a great price.
For £25 you will get beef steak mince, pork mince, chicken breast strips, diced steak, bacon medallions and Cumberland chipolata sausages.
The whole hamper is Syn free apart from the Cumberland chipolata sausages which are 0.5 Syns each!
The new minimum order value of £25 means you can order this hamper on it’s own 😱
Protein Food Shop’s packaging is second to none, with a specially insulated box and freezer packs, meaning that your meat stays super chilled!
Tesco Desiree Potatoes
We love spuds! You can do so many things with a potato, they really do form an important part of the SW plan for some of us! They’re free on Slimming World, so a great choice as part of a food optimised meal.
How good is that?!
Tesco have these 2.5kg bags of Desiree Potatoes for £2.00
Peckish Salt and Vinegar Flavour Rice Crackers
We all have a snack-attack sometimes. The key is to find a nibbly snack that curbs the craving without going off plan.
There are times when I just want something savoury with a bit of a twist.
Peckish Crackers use rice flour, which makes them thinner, lighter and crispier than other popular crackers. These are only 4 Syns per bag on Syns online.
These are Gluten Free and suitable for Vegetarians, so they tick a few boxes.
Available in a multipack of 5 x 20g bags from Tesco, Ocado and Sainsbury’s for around £1.80.
Peckish Tangy Barbecue Flavour Rice Crackers
Also available in this range from Peckish are the Tangy Barbecue flavour Rice Crackers. A real savoury hit of flavour to help satisfy those munchies!
These are thin, light and crispy crackers with a tangy barbecue taste.
Again, they’re Gluten Free and suitable for Vegetarians, so they’re a great option for snacking at just 4.5 Syns per bag on Syns Online.
Available in a multipack of 5 x 20g bags from Tesco, priced at £1.79
Yazoo No Added Sugar Chocolate Milk
Way back in January 2016 we brought you news that Yazoo had launched two flavours of No Added Sugar Milk Drinks, Strawberry and Banana in our Shopping Essentials list.
Last week, Yazoo announced the arrival of their Chocolate flavour No Added Sugar drink…Finally!!
A 200ml bottle is listed as 4 Syns on the Slimming World website.
Yazoo No Added Sugar Chocolate is available in 4x200ml packs for £1.60 and 6x200ml packs for £2.40 from most supermarkets.
ASDA Almond Mini Bakewells
Bakewell tart has always been a weakness of mine. I live about 10 miles away from the town where the Bakewell pudding was born – Bakewell, in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District.
The Original Bakewell Pudding is ridiculously high in Syns, so I’ll often make our 1 Syn Bakewell Baked Oats to give me the flavour I’m craving.
Now Asda have brought out these mini Bakewells, which are definitely worth a try. Luscious layers of raspberry jam and sweet sponge, scattered with toasted almonds.
They work out at 6 Syns on SW Syn calculator and a box of 9 Mini Bakewell Tarts is priced at £2.00
Asda Strawberry & Buttercream Mini Tarts
If you’re not keen on almond flavour and Bakewell tart is not your bag, how about these Strawberry and Buttercream Mini Tarts?
Pastry base filled with strawberry jam and topped with buttercream and freeze dried strawberries.
Perfect for a teatime treat, these are only 5 Syns each using the Syns Calculator.
If you really don’t want to sacrifice that many Syns for a sweet, strawberry hit, why not try our Low Syn Mini Strawberry Sponges?
The Asda Strawberry & Buttercream Mini Tarts are selling in Asda at £2.00 for a box of 9 Mini Tarts.
Tesco 10 Bombay Potato Rosti Baskets
Regular visitors to our Facebook group will know that we’re big fans of curries!
Last week, we added our fab 2 Syn Chicken Korma Curry to the website and it’s proving very popular already!
When you’re making a curry, don’t forget the accompaniments too. For a perfect Friday night Fakeaway, you could add some Syn Free Sweet Potato Pakoras.
Staying with the curry night theme, we’ve found these Bombay Potato Rosti Baskets. A take on the traditional Indian favourite, these are delicious frozen Bombay Potato Rosti baskets.
Shredded crispy potato nests filled with mixed vegetables in a curry sauce.
These work out at 2 Syns each on the Syns Calculator. A pack of 10 Bombay Potato Rosti Baskets costs £2.00.
They’re also part of the 3 for £5.00 deal in Tesco’s frozen party food collection.
New York Bakery Mini Bagels
Ah, bagels! How I’ve missed you!
Pre-SW, I’d have cheerfully wolfed down a couple of toasted bagels as a mid-morning brunch. (I’ve just worked out that I would have had 23 Syns, and that’s without the butter! How times have changed…for the better, obviously!)
These snack-sized, New York Bakery Mini Bagels are smaller, but still the real deal. Delicious toasted or dipped. Great for a quick snack. Soft & chewy for an authentic NY taste.
At just 5 Syns per mini bagel, these give you a taste of New York without wasting 11.5 Syns on the full-sized version. That’s got to be worth it!
These are available from Asda and cost £1.29 for a bag of 6.
New York Bakery Co Maple Mini Bagels
If you have a sweet tooth and prefer a sweeter bagel, the New York Bakery Co have got you covered, too.
As well as the plain mini bagels, they have also launched these Maple Mini Bagels.
At 4.5 Syns, these are a significant saving on a full-sized bagel, which would cost you 11.5 Syns.
You’ll find New York Bakery Co Maple Mini Bagels in Asda. They cost £1.29 for a bag of 6.
Galaxy Salted Caramel Cake Bars
Over the past few weeks, we’ve featured a range of chocolate cake bars, many of which had a Halloween theme.
Now that all those spooky shenanigans are behind us, we don’t have to be spooked with slime green fillings.
In our Shopping Essentials round up from a couple of weeks ago, we brought you Galaxy Chocolate Orange Cake Bars.
This week we have Galaxy Salted Caramel Cake bars – individual chocolate sponges, with a layer of gooey salted caramel, coated in smooth Galaxy Milk Chocolate.
At 6 Syns each, these are a really indulgent luxury, but won’t break the Syn bank entirely.
They are available from Tesco and cost £1.00 for a pack of 5 bars.
Ambrosia 30% Less Sugar Custard Pots
One of the things I often fancy when I’m in the mood for a dessert is something served with custard.
The problem is, custard is fairly high in Syns. Then you have the dilemma of whether to use milk from your HEA or to Syn the milk you’ve used.
It’s all a bit of a pain.
This week we’ve found these mini pots of Ambrosia 30% less sugar custard. I’ve already decided to have mine with one of our 2 Syn Apple Strudels this weekend!
Although they’re never going to be the ‘bottomless custard jug’ offered in some restaurants, they will hit the spot, and they’re just 2.5 Syns per pot.
These Ambrosia custard pots are sold in Tesco, priced at £1.60 for 6 mini pots.
Kit Kat Bites – White Chocolate
The Kit Kat biscuit has been around for years. Fingers of crispy wafer biscuit, covered in chocolate.
Whether you choose the original milk chocolate, or one of the many flavours now available, they’re a classic teatime treat.
Original Kit Kat bites have been available in hanging bags for a little while now, and were recently joined by peanut butter flavour. (My favourite!)
This week, we found White Chocolate Kit Kat bites, causing much excitement! Make sure you find a few people to share these with, as they’re 1.5 Syns per piece.
These are currently on offer in Tesco for £1.00 per bag.
Green And Blacks Milk Chocolate Praline
Just a few weeks ago, we featured some new Green and Blacks chocolates in our Shopping Essentials list.
Green and Blacks is a high quality chocolate, produced using ethically sourced cocoa beans through sustainable farming.
Now Green and Blacks have created another delicious product. Milk chocolate praline with a whole hazelnut centre, wrapped in deliciously smooth milk chocolate.
These come in a box of 17 truffle chocolates and each chocolate is 2.5 Syns according to the Syn calculator.
They’re currently on offer at Tesco for £3.50, a saving of £1.50 on the usual price of £5.00
Well it’s under 4 weeks till the start of December, so we’ve scoured high and low to find the 10 most Slimming World friendly advent calendars!
We’ve included all sorts of Slimming World friendly advent calendars from candles, teas and Hifi bars to more indulgent treats including wine.
Yes, you read that right – a WINE advent calendar 😱 check it out now, before it’s too late!
Lidl Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Liqueur
Anyone who knows me also knows that Gin is my favourite alcoholic drink. It’s pretty low in Syns when you’re following Slimming World, so it’s a pretty good option for a tipple or two.
If you’re curious about Syn values for your favourite alcoholic drink, have a look at our Guide to How Many Syns in Spirits and Liqueurs.
Gin has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity over the last couple of years, with traditional brands now sitting alongside new brands and flavours.
Lidl have launched two new flavours of Gin Liqueur just in time for Christmas.
The first is Rhubarb and Ginger Gin Liqueur. I’ve been enjoying a much more expensive branded version of this, so I was delighted to discover this one!
It’s delicious served with diet ginger ale, or if you’re really celebrating, you can pair it with Prosecco!
It’s not on the Slimming World app yet, but similar liqueurs such as Cointreau are 25mls for 4 Syns.
This costs £11.99 a bottle, only from Lidl.
Lidl Raspberry Gin Liqueur
More exciting news from Lidl this week with a Raspberry Liqueur Gin. This joins the Hortus range of Gins sold in Lidl.
This is made with Scottish raspberries and can be enjoyed on it’s own, over ice, or as a spritz with prosecco.
How about a replacing the Vodka in our Raspberry Vodka Fizz Cocktail and making a Raspberry Gin Fizz instead?!
As with the Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Liqueur, this isn’t on the app yet, but as this is similar to liqueurs such as Cointreau, we’re expecting this to be around 4 Syns for 25ml.
