Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 640,000 members it keeps going up each week!) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly, for our Slimming World Shopping Essentials list!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), but you can join up using the link below for the latest news and discussions on brand new Slimming World-friendly products.

Before we get started…
Do you have any Frozen vegetables in your freezer?
If yes, then you need to read this.
We avidly search the supermarkets and food websites every week to find a selection of new products and special offers to help you stay on plan with Slimming World.
Slimming World recommend having 1/3 Speed Food with every meal where appropriate as part of the Extra Easy plan. If you’re not sure whether your fruit and vegetable choices are Speed Foods, you can check our Speed Foods list.
Aldi Super 6
The budget supermarkets, such as Aldi and Lidl, always have a great range of fresh fruit and vegetables to fill your trolley. Both stores offer a weekly selection of seasonal produce at a special price, which is a great way to save those pennies.
This week we’re featuring Aldi, as their Super 6 offer is chock-a-block with speed fruit and veg. Perfect for staying on track in this warm, sunny weather.
- Flat peaches – chop up with some Syn free yogurt for a quick dessert
- Aubergines – gorgeous in our Syn Free Ratatouille
- Courgettes – try these in our Syn Free Courgette & Butterbean Frittata
- Honeydew melon – simply chop it up for our Syn Free Melon & Berry Bowl
- Sugar snap peas – the perfect side dish for our Syn Free Lemon & Garlic Chicken Tray Bake
- Fun-sized apples – perfect for picnics this weekend or just a healthy speed snack
This selection of Super 6 fruit and veg is on promotion in Aldi from Thursday 5th until Wednesday 18th July, subject to availability. Prices range from 45p to 59p.
Santa Maria Peruvian Garlic & Tomato Sauce
I spotted this while I was mooching around Morrisons earlier this week and thought it looked good. I checked on the Syns Online app and was delighted to find it was listed at 5.5 Syns per pack.
It’s a chunky tomato sauce with garlic, paprika and peppers, ideal to keep in the cupboard for a quick and easy meal. You’d just need to fry off some chicken or prawns, add the sauce and simmer for a minute until the sauce has heated through.
Served with some boiled rice and speed veg, you’ll have dinner ready in no time at all! Each sachet will make 2 servings. The sauce is Gluten Free and suitable for vegetarians. Available in Morrisons, priced at £1.26.
Schwartz Street Food seasonings
I’m always on the look out for new products, especially when I can write about them here on the Shopping Essentials list! I like to try different supermarkets each week to see what’s around. (It’s a great excuse to browse the shelves!)
Morrisons was my hunting ground this week, as new products can sometimes take a week or two to appear on the store websites.
The display for these Schwartz Street Food Seasonings caught my eye, so I decided to investigate further. There are a selection of flavours for different food styles, including Caribbean, Korean and Mexican.
The full range has some great choices;
- Korean BBQ
- Caribbean Jerk
Each sachet contains a dry seasoning blend of herbs and spices, which can be used in various ways. Serving suggestions on the packaging suggest ideas such as using as a dry rub, adding to a stir fry or mixing with yogurt/mayo as a dip.
The sachets cost 88p each in Morrisons and work out at 2 Syns each using the Syns calculator.
Weetabix Crispy Minis Honey & Nut
These were first shared in our Facebook group earlier this week and I got quite excited. I mean, who doesn’t love honey and nut, right? I nipped straight down to my local Asda to find them.
This flavour of Weetabix Crispy Minis is exclusive to Asda at the moment, so you won’t find it anywhere else yet! It’s also too new to be on the Slimming World database, so we can’t count as an HEB choice. (Keep your fingers crossed though!)
We’re hoping that Slimming World will add these to Syns Online as a Healthy Extra, but until they do, you’ll need to Syn them at 7.5 Syns per 40g serving, calculated using Syns Calculator.
A 600g box of Weetabix Crispy Minis Honey & Nut costs £2.50 from Asda, or you can buy 2 boxes for £4.00.
Aldi Greek Style Coconut & Vanilla yogurt
When Muller launched their big pots of flavoured Greek yogurt last year, there were plenty of offers on in the main supermarkets to keep the prices low. If you can’t find them on offer, they can be quite pricey.
Happily, Aldi now have their own identical version of Greek Style Coconut & Vanilla yogurt, but at a much more pocket-friendly price. Using the Syns calculator, this works out as Syn Free.
It’s really thick and creamy, absolutely yummy just spooned over some fruit or to use in our Low Syn Bounty Baked Oats. Aldi Greek Style Coconut & Vanilla yogurt does contain gelatine, so it’s not suitable for vegetarians. A 450g pot costs just 85p in Aldi.
Aldi Greek Style Lemon yogurt
Aldi have brought out their own Brooklea brand of Greek Style Lemon yogurt to sit alongside the Coconut and Vanilla Flavour in the chiller cabinet.
As I write this Shopping Essentials article, I’m eating this Aldi Greek Style Lemon yogurt over fresh strawberries. Nom! It would be delicious in our Low Syn Lemon & Blueberry Baked Oats too.
Just like the Coconut and Vanilla flavour, this is really thick and creamy and the lemon flavour is good. It’s not suitable for vegetarians as it contains gelatine.
It’s not on the SW app yet, but this flavour works out free using the Syns calculator. It costs 85p for a 450g pot.
Aldi Limited Edition Light Yogurts
There are regular posts over in our Facebook group asking about Syn free yogurts. As some of us have found out to our cost, Fat Free doesn’t always mean Syn free. We published a Guide to Syn Free Yogurts recently, you can read it here.
Aldi have new limited edition selection of single pot yogurts in store now. The flavours include;
- Key Lime Pie
- Papaya & Coconut
- Skinny Latte
All flavours are listed as Syn free on Syns Online. They come in 175g pots and are priced at just 33p each. That’s a huge saving on other similar branded yogurts. You’ll just need to clear a shelf for them in your fridge!
Tesco Fat Free Strawberry Quark
Tesco Fat Free Strawberry Quark has arrived. I had to make a late night dash to Tesco last night so that I could get a photo of it, as the Tesco website doesn’t have an image yet!
I think this Tesco Fat Free Strawberry Quark would work really well in our Low Syn Unicorn Eton Mess too. Give it a try!
Gullón Sugar Free Digestives
If you love biscuits, the chances are you’ll have already heard of, or even tried these! Gullón Sugar Free digestive biscuits are, as the name suggests, made without sugar, so they’re a healthier option.
The brand originates in Spain, so you may have seen the name if you’ve ever done a food shop in a Spanish supermarket whilst on holiday.
Being sugar free, these biscuits are slightly lower in Syns than standard digestives. The Gullón digestives are 3 Syns each. They’re available in Iceland priced at £1.00 for a 400g pack. You can find them here, on the Iceland website.
Gullón Sugar Free Dark Choc Digestives
Digestive biscuits are fab, but you can make them even better by adding some chocolate. After all, everything tastes better with added chocolate, doesn’t it?!
These Gullón dark chocolate digestives are the same sugar free digestive biscuits, but they’re topped with a layer of dark chocolate. As these are sugar free, they are lower in Syns, having said that, you can’t wolf down the entire pack!
Gullón Sugar Free Choc Chip Cookies
Still riding the sugar free biscuit train, we bring you another choice from Gullón. I found these in Morrisons earlier this week, so I thought I’d include them here.
Of course, there’s always the option to make your own with our amazing 2 Syn Double Choc Chip Cookies! Oooh, yes please!
You can enjoy all the taste of a choc chip cookie, knowing that it’s sugar free and lower in Syns too! These are listed on Syns Online at 2 Syns per cookie.
These Gullón Sugar Free Choc Chip Cookies are from Morrisons and cost £1.00 for a 150g pack.
Mr Kipling Forest Fruit Slices
Good old Mr Kipling! We haven’t featured any of his products for quite a while, so it’s high time we changed that by showing you some new ones.
First up, we have these Mr Fox’s Fantastic Forest Fruit Slices. Taking their theme, and their packaging design, from the Roald Dahl stories. These are like traditional Angel Slices, but with a layer of forest fruit sponge and icing.
We’ve used the Syns calculator to work these out, as they’re not on the database. They’re coming out at 6 Syns per slice. They are a limited edition, so won’t be around for long. A box of 6 slices costs £1.00 in Morrisons.
Mr Kipling Lemon & Raspberry Whirls
Whenever I think of Mr Kipling cakes, I see Viennese Whirls. My grandmother was a big fan, so she usually kept a couple of spare packets in the cupboard for, errrm… emergencies!
Now Mr Kipling has brought out these limited edition George’s Marvellous Lemon & Raspberry Whirls as part of their Roald Dahl promotional packs selection.
Shortcake whirls with a lemon cream and raspberry jam filling. A very tasty treat! Using the Syns calculator, these Mr Kipling Lemon & Raspberry whirls are 7 Syns a piece. A box of 6 whirls costs £1.00 in Morrisons.
Aldi Coco Loco Coconut Water Popsicles
Over recent weeks, we have brought you lots of frozen goodies in the Shopping Essentials lists. With the hot weather showing no sign of abating, we’ve found couple more to keep you cool.
These Aldi Coco Loco Popsicles have appeared in the freezer and they look pretty good to me! They’re made from coconut water, which is really refreshing. Using the Syns Calculator, we’ve worked these out to be 3.5 Syns each.
You can buy them from Aldi, priced at £1.99 for a box of 4 popsicles.
Aldi Coco Loco Tropical Coconut Water Popsicles
These really did get my mouth watering when I saw them in Aldi a couple of days ago. Aldi have combined Coconut water with tropical fruit purée to create these Tropical Coconut Water Popsicles.
These have the same Syn value as the Coconut Water Popsicles when you put the nutritional information through the Syns calculator, so they’re coming out at 3.5 Syns each.
You’ll find these Coco Loco Tropical Coconut Water Popsicles in Aldi. A box of 4 popsicles costs £1.99.
Galaxy Chocolate Creme Wafer Curls
If you love chocolate, you’ll be very interested in our next item. These Galaxy Chocolate Creme Wafer Curls are new to Sainsbury’s this week.
These chocolate treats are described as Wafer rolls with a chocolate cream filling, covered in smooth Galaxy milk chocolate. They’re available in two flavours, Chocolate Creme Curls and Hazelnut Creme Curls.
We’ve had to use the Syns calculator to work these out as they’re not on the app yet. For a 30g serving, the Chocolate Creme Curls are 7.5 Syns and the Hazelnut Creme Curls are 8 Syns.
There is an introductory offer on in Sainsbury’s for these, so a 90g bag will cost £1.50, saving you 50p on the RRP.
M&S Half Fat British Extra Thick Cream
One of our Facebook group members, Jess, posted this picture earlier this week to share with the group. If you have felt as though you’re missing out on cream since starting Slimming World, this could be for you.
Fresh cream is an indulgent treat at the best of times, but the Syns tend to go off the chart so usually easier to avoid it altogether. Now M&S have started selling Half Fat British Extra Thick Cream.
It works out at 3.5 Syns per 2 level tablespoons using the Syns Calculator. (The M&S full fat version is 3.5 Syns for 1 tbsp, so you’re getting twice as much!) A 300ml pot costs £1.20, available from M&S now.
