Over in our Facebook group (where we now have over 485,000 members 😱 it keeps going up each week!) one of the hot topics of each week is spotting new products that are Slimming World friendly!
Not all of you are in our Facebook group (you should be!), so I thought I’d add it to the website as a weekly feature.
This post contains affiliate links. Find out what this means.
Welcome to the thousands of new members of our Facebook Group! This weekly round up of Slimming World friendly products is designed to give you some new Speed food and Free food ideas, or something different to spend your Syns on.
As you know, the Slimming World plan encourages us to include 1/3 of a plate of Speed Food with every meal, where we can, so we always include some Speed foods in our Shopping Essentials round up, too!
ASDA Pear Slices
When you’re out and about, you sometimes want to grab a quick snack that is Syn free or low Syn.
I will often pop into a shop and grab a pack of speed food and some sliced ham or chicken. It’s a quick way to stop those tummy rumbles and is perfectly on plan!
Sliced apples have been around for ages, but now Asda have launched this snack pack of Pear Slices.
It’s always good to find something a bit different to stop things getting boring!
As pears are a Speed Food, these are a great idea for lunch on the go.
These Asda Pear Slices cost just 35p per pack and the snack packs of fruit are on offer at 5 for £1.50
ASDA Watermelon Slices
Sitting alongside the Pear Slices, you’ll find these refreshing Watermelon Slices.
Another Speed Food option, Watermelon is a really refreshing treat and these snack packs give you a perfect portion without the messy preparation!
The Asda Watermelon slices are part of the multi-buy offer, so you can mix and match 5 different packs for £1.50. In fact, you could create an entire fruit salad!
What a great way to up your Speed Food intake!
You can pick up these packs of Watermelon slices from Asda for 35p per pack.
ASDA Pomegranate Seeds
Pomegranate seeds were always one of those things I’d never tried. I’m not sure if it was the Pomegranate itself that put me off, or the fiddly preparation to actually get to the seeds!
When I saw a pack of pomegranate seeds I thought I’d give them a go, and now I’m wondering why I didn’t try them sooner!
The Pomegranate seeds are little red bursts of sweet and sharp flavour that are both crisp and juicy at the same time.
They’re delicious to eat on their own, but they can transform a salad dish and give it a whole new spin!
Why not try using them in our Super Low Syn Sweet Chilli Duck Salad with Orange and Pomegranate?
A 200g pack of Pomegranate Seeds costs £1.75 from Asda.
ASDA Winter Berry Medley
There are lots of new fruity offerings around this week, and here’s another one for you. Asda have combined a range of soft fruits to create a Winter Berry Medley, which contains a mixture of Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries and Grapes.
It would be perfect to make our Low Syn Unicorn Eton Mess.
This means that the berries in this medley are all Speed Foods apart from the grapes.
This Winter Berry Medley is available from Asda and costs £2.00 for the 240g pot.
ASDA Banana, Watermelon & Grapes
Our last selection from Asda this week is this unusual combination of Banana, Watermelon and Grapes.
It’s another great way to pick up a grab and go snacking option when you’re in a hurry, but don’t want to make a dent in your Syns allowance for the day!
Bananas and grapes are free foods, and watermelon is Speed, so this is an ideal choice to fill the gap when you need a snack.
This fruity mix is available from Asda, priced at £1.00 for a 130g pack.
Florette Crunchy Salad
This Florette Crunchy Salad would be a great addition to a meal. The idea of a few limp lettuce leaves are pretty unappealing when you think about salad.
This salad bowl is made up of Escarole, Carrot, Beetroot, Frisée, Sweetcorn and Radicchio, so the ingredients remain deliciously crunchy. It’s all speed food, apart from the Sweetcorn.
It would be great served with our Syn Free Pasta Bolognese Bake, for a quick and easy mid-week meal.
Florette have a varied range of salads available in Supermarkets, any of which can be used to add that all-important one third of a plate of speed food with each meal.
Florette Crunchy Salad is available from Asda.
It costs £1.25 for a 220g salad bowl.

They’re available from Morrisons, priced at £6.00.
Morrisons Fresh Oysters
Whilst we’re on the subject of Valentine’s Day and romantic meals, how about trying these Morrisons Fresh Oysters?
Oysters have always had an association with romance, as they’re said to have aphrodisiac qualities.
Whether you believe that or not, these Oysters would certainly make a more exotic starter for your candlelit dinner for two! These are responsibly farmed Oysters, which are ready to cook.
Oysters are free on Slimming World, so you could create something simple and delicious to eat.
This pack of 6 Fresh Oysters is available from Morrisons, priced at £1.50.
Holland and Barrett Ready Meal cans.
That being said, we appreciate that it’s not always possible to create a meal from scratch, so from time to time, we all need something in the cupboard to fall back on in an emergency!
Holland and Barrett have a range of canned ready meals which fit the bill perfectly.

Wahaca Chilli Sauces
As you’ll probably know, we’re big fans of chilli flavours and hot sauce. When a recipe calls for a boost of flavour, they are an easy way to add some heat without blowing your head off!
We often use Frank’s Hot Sauce, but this week we’ve discovered these new chilli sauces from Wahaca.
Wahaca Habanero Chilli Sauce
This Habanero Chilli Sauce is made with a blend of garlic, ginger, honey and the amazing habanero chilli… a citrus like flavour with a floral aroma and a hidden heat that will definitely waken the taste buds!
Suitable for vegetarians, one level tablespoon of this Chilli Sauce is just 0.5 Syns, so if you’re adding to a recipe that serves 4, the Syn value per serving will be negligible.
It would be perfect in our Syn Free Caribbean Jerk Stew.
Wahaca Habanero Chilli Sauce is available from Tesco and costs £1.80 for a 155g bottle.
Wahaca Chipotle Chilli Sauce
For this Wahaca Chipotle Chilli Sauce, smoked paprika, roasted garlic and chipotle chillies have been combined to create this medium hot Mexican favourite.
It’s smoky and not too spicy, with a chilli rating of 2 and is suitable for vegetarians & vegans.
It’s 0.5 Syns per level tablespoon on the Syns Online database.
If you like chillies, but not that fiery heat, this is certainly a great one to try. Why not try it in our Syn Free Hunters Chicken recipe?
Itsu Prawn Crackers Mild Wasabi
We get lots of people over on our Facebook group asking us if there are any low Syn Prawn Crackers.
When you’re preparing a Friday Fakeaway menu, sometimes it’s those extra touches that make all the difference!
These Itsu Mild Wasabi Prawn Crackers might just be one of those extra touches you need!
That’s my Friday night sorted!
Itsu Mild Wasabi Prawn Crackers are sold in an 18g bag that costs 79p from Tesco.
Perkier Goji & Cranberry Quinoa Bar – NEW HEB!
We have found a new HEB option this week…Hooray! If you head down to Holland and Barrett, you’ll discover these Perkier Goji & Cranberry Quinoa Bars.
They’re listed on the Slimming World Syns Database as an HEB choice, but if you’re not using it as your Healthy Extra, they’re 6 Syns each.
Perkier Goji & cranberry quinoa bars are packed with the goodness of juicy cranberries and goji berries, organic quinoa and seeds, to create a delicious, all natural whole food bar… bursting with nutritious energy!
The bars cost 99p each from Holland & Barrett stores.
As mentioned above, they are 6 Syns each if you are not using as your Healthy Extra B choice.
Cadbury Break Bar
Chocolate is one of my many vices, and if I’m honest, one I still can’t live without! Fortunately, that’s the beauty of Slimming World.
By choosing to save a few Syns, I can enjoy chocolate without ruining all my hard work.
These Cadbury Break Bars look amazing and I cannot wait to try them. They are made up of a biscuit bar with a chocolate filling, and the base dipped in chocolate too.
They’re available in two varieties, one with ordinary biscuit and one with a cocoa biscuit, but both with a melting middle of chocolate.
McVities Hobnobs Nibbles Hazelnut
McVities Nibbles have been around for a long time now. Digestive Nibbles appeared first, and we’ve featured various flavours in our Shopping Essentials lists, the most recent of which was the White Chocolate Digestive Nibbles from last September.
Milk Chocolate Coated Hazelnut Flavour Hobnobs Biscuit Balls are new to the McVities range and they’re now available in Tesco.
They work out at 6 Syns per 24g portion using the Syns Calculator.
ASDA Loveheart Crumpets
As we have already mentioned, next Wednesday is Valentine’s Day! If you fancy a ‘Hearty’ breakfast (geddit?!) how about these Love Heart crumpets from Asda.
As a one-off, these would be a very special treat for a love-ly start to the day.
These Asda Loveheart Crumpets work out at 8.5 Syns each, worked out using the Snackulator on the Slimming World website.
A pack of 4 crumpets costs £1.00
ASDA Extra Special Belgian Chocolate Mini Hot Cross Buns
Another yummy breakfast treat would be these Asda Extra Special Belgian Chocolate Mini Hot Cross Buns.
It may seem as though we’ve only just recovered from Christmas, but we’ll be saying hello to the Easter Bunny before we know it!
Hot cross buns are a real treat, and these Belgian Chocolate Hot Cross Buns are no exception.

Ben and Jerry’s New Lower Calorie Flavours?
We spotted an article in the news today that Ben and Jerry’s are releasing 3 new flavoured Lower Calorie Ice Creams in America later this month, following the huge success of Halo Top.
So far, they’ve announced Chocolate Milk, Caramel Cookie Fix and P.B. Dough.
Halo Top, an American Low Calorie Ice Cream, hit the UK at the beginning of January, and we featured it in our first Shopping Essentials list of the New Year.
We then watched in amazement as Halo Top sold out around the country while on a half price offer in Tesco stores throughout the UK!
Now we’re watching and waiting for Ben and Jerry’s to announce whether these new, low calorie flavours will be following Halo Top across the pond.
Diet Coke/Coke Zero – New Flavours!
If you’ve been shopping in the last few days, some of you may have spotted some new flavours in the Diet Coke and Coke Zero range.
You can read more about them in our Shopping Essentials Top Pick article.
