Last week, we asked the members of our Facebook Group to help us compile our Top Ten Slimming & Weight Watchers Friendly Recipes Of 2017, and we were inundated with suggestions!

With so many amazing recipes on the Pinch of Nom website, it’s hard to decide on a favourite. We have recipes for every occasion, from breakfasts, lunches and dinners, to tasters and party foods and so much more!

So, without further ado, here are Our Top Ten Slimming & Weight Watchers Friendly Recipes of 2017, as chosen by our group members. (Don’t worry, they have GREAT taste!)

In the best awards ceremony tradition, we’re presenting the results in reverse order!

Number 10 – Crispy Chilli Beef

We all love a takeaway, but the calorie values of many dishes from the local Chinese can be eye-popping! We came up with this delicious Crispy Chilli Beef recipe to satisfy that need without the sky-high calorie tally! It works out at just 410 calories per portion, so you can enjoy it guilt-free!

Number 9 – Corned Beef Pasties

When a member of the Facebook group posted a photo of these amazing Corned Beef Pasties, there was an incredible reaction. We made them for ourselves and decided they were too good not to share!

Using the Weightwatchers Low Fat White Wraps saves loads of calories!

Number 8 – Gravy

The one thing I craved when I started Slimming & Weight Watchers Friendly was a decent gravy recipe! I knew how to make a roast dinner low calorie, but it’s not the same without Gravy!

We’ve made this wonderful, Gravy that’s the perfect accompaniment to a roast dinner, or even toad in the hole!

Number 7 – KFC Fakeaway

Go on, admit it! You miss the golden, crunchy glory of a KFC, don’t you? When the calories in a regular KFC from the Colonel are too high, why not make this gorgeous KFC Fakeaway instead?! It’s a big family favourite in my house, even with my fussy teenagers!

Number 6 – Cheesy Garlic Bread

What can I say about Number 6?! Seriously, Cheesy Garlic Bread. Oh yes! By using a Schar Ciabatta roll and a small amount of cheese you have a delicious treat to enjoy with a meal. What could be better than that?!

Number 5 – Salt and Pepper Chips

Our Salt and Pepper Chips are a real Saturday night treat! Perfect for when you’re craving a takeaway, but don’t have enough calories to spare.

These Salt and Pepper Chips have become one of our favourite ‘Fakeaway’ recipes as they taste just like the ones you get from the takeaway.

Number 4 – Bacon, Onion and Potato Bake

Bacon, Onion and Potato Bake is real, traditional comfort food. Slices of potato, layered with onions and bacon, soaking up delicious vegetable or chicken stock.

Baked in the oven until golden and crispy, with a sprinkle of cheese on top. It’s ideal for a midweek evening meal. Absolutely yummy!

Number 3 – Salt and Pepper Chicken

This was my all-time favourite takeaway dish before I began my slimming journey! I would order it without fail, with extra chillies if I was feeling adventurous!
I thought that this dish would be strictly off-limits, but no!

Our Salt and Pepper Chicken is just as good, and the bonus is that you’re not using up any precious calories. Life is good!

Number 2 – Campfire Stew

Our original recipe for Campfire Stew was given a makeover recently. It’s always been good, but now it’s even better!

People love it because it’s so easy to prepare, with simple ingredients that you’ve probably got in the cupboard right now.

You can leave it in the slow cooker whilst you get on with your day, or if you have an electric pressure cooker, you could rustle this up in less than an hour!

And Finally……(Drum roll, please!)

Number 1 – Dirty Rice

Yes, Dirty Rice. A combination of fried rice and dirty rice. Chinese and Cajun together to form the best Slimming & Weight Watchers Friendly Fried Rice ever!

There was so much interest in this recipe, we went on to create Cajun Dirty Rice too, for those who prefer to use beef mince.

 

This recipe been incredibly popular with everyone who’s tried it, which has put it at Number 1 in Our Top Ten Slimming & Weight Watchers Friendly Recipes Of 2017.  A worthy winner!!
