Hi Everyone
Is there a way I can make this without using yoghurt?
I’m on a medication where I am unable to eat live cultures which is pretty much all yoghurt & Greek yoghurt.
Is there an alternative I can use please? 🙏

I’m just fed up with eating boring cereal being a diabetic my options already feel limited and with the colder weather on the horizon I would love to bake something warming.

Any advice of tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hey, The yoghurt is important in this recipe and I think even dairy free versions still have plant based live cultures so I’m not sure if that is an okay swap for you to try. We have a wide selection of BREAKFAST recipes on our website so you may find some inspiration to try out, hope that helps!

Can I use porridge oats instead of rolled oats? Or are they the same thing 🙃

Reply

    HollyFriday 8th April 2022

Hey Kelsea, porridge oats are little more of a crushed texture to rolled oats which are flattened. The baked oats will still work fine with porridge oats though!

Hey! Would you be able to add protein powder to this recipe? If so, would you need to add more wet ingredients? Thanks 😊

    HollyMonday 21st March 2022

Hey Michelle, we haven’t tested this recipe using protein powder so wouldn’t be sure of the results. You may find the mixture is a little dry so could try altering the yoghurt or adding a splash of milk. Let us know how you get on!

I make this ALL THE TIME…. I sometimes add 10g of Pb peanut butter protein powder and 15g of milk to make it peanut butter jelly flavour, and increase the protein too. Delicious. 👏🏻

Could I use fat free Greek yoghurt instead? Would there be any difference, oh and which sweetener would you recommend. I can’t stand the aftertaste sweetener leaves. Thank you in advance for your help 🤠

    Hi
Yes, you can use Greek yoghurt in this recipe. We have this article on sweeteners which you might find helpful. You could also replace the sweetener with the equivalent amount of sugar, but that would increase the calories, if that is important to you. Hope this helps.https://pinchofnom.com/which-type-of-sweetener-should-i-use/

Hey Michelle, we haven’t tested this recipe with soya yoghurt but it should work fine as a substitute, just use the same weight. Hope that helps!.

Im allergic to eggs but really want to try this have you got any tips as to what to use?

Reply

    LisaThursday 8th July 2021

    Hi Nicole
We’ve not tried this recipe replacing eggs so can’t really recommend anything other than a shop bought egg replacer. You can get them from most supermarkets and the packet will give you instructions on how to use.
    Hope this helps

Could you tell me how this is 8 points for the blue plan? The only thing that would be points is the oats and jam I believe. Thank you.

    LisaWednesday 14th April 2021

    Hi Emma
The oats, jam and almond extract are all pointed. I’ve double checked and the points are correct. It is quite a generous portion though, so you could always have half a portion to save points. Hope this helps.
