How Weight Watchers friendly is this Chocolate Orange Waffles recipe?

Weight Watchers’ new PersonalPoints plan calculates each individual’s Points allowance based on their unique food preferences and goals. This means we’re no longer able to offer exact WW points for our recipes.

The good news is that all of our recipes are still Weight Watchers friendly! If you have any questions about your Points budgets or you’re unsure how a certain recipe will fit into your plan, please reach out to Weight Watchers directly.

Do you need any special ingredients to make these Chocolate Orange Waffles?

This post contains affiliate links. Find out what this means.

You can use a waffle maker for these Lemon and Blueberry Waffles, if you have one, but we just used one of these waffle moulds from Amazon.

Our sweetener of choice is Sukrin 1 which is a natural, granulated sweetener (just like sugar) that has none of that horrible, artificial taste.

That being said, you don’t have to use Sukrin – there are lots of other high quality, granulated sweeteners available from the supermarket including Canderel Sugarly and Natvia.

If you’re using powdered sweetener, then please check how it compares to sugar. In some cases you’ll need to use less, as powdered sweeteners can weigh less.

How do you know when these Chocolate Orange Waffles are cooked?

You should cook these Chocolate Orange Waffles for 15 – 20 minutes or until the waffles are firm to the touch.

Turn out onto a baking tray and cook for a further 4 or 5 minutes.

Standard advice here in the UK is to cook food until it has reached 70°C and stayed at that temperature for 2 minutes. This is to keep your family safe.

How long can you keep these Chocolate Orange Waffles in the fridge?

You can store any leftover Chocolate Orange Waffles in an airtight container for about 3 days or so.

Can I freeze these Chocolate Orange Waffles?

Yes you can! This recipe can be frozen, but freeze before adding the Choc Shot and please remember to do the following;

  • Freeze it as soon as it is cold enough.
  • Use a container or bag that is suitable for freezing.

Don’t forget to add a label with what it is, and on what date you put it in the freezer!

How do I reheat these Chocolate Orange Waffles?

Place the waffles on a baking tray and cook in an oven set to 170ºC for 10-15 minutes until hot – just keep an eye on them to ensure they don’t burn.

You could reheat these in the microwave for 5-6 minutes until piping hot. They probably won’t be as crispy this way.

Hey Lisa, Yes you can use a waffle maker for these Chocolate Orange Waffles. Preheat your waffle maker and spray with a little low calorie cooking spray and cook until they are firm to the touch. Hope that helps!
