It says 400g of chickpeas. Is this 400g of chickpeas altogether once drained or just a 400g tin of chickpeas.Sorry just confusing myself.

Hey Emma, we used a 400g tin of chickpeas which has a drained weight of approximately 240g, hope that helps!

Was thinking of making these but using Ras-el-Hanout spices instead of the cumin and chilli powder. Do you think 1 tbsp (equiv 2.5 tsps) would be ok? Also roughly how much in grams is 1 handful fresh coriander? Thanks.

Hi Jenny, a handful of fresh coriander is approximately 10g the Ras-el-Hanout spice mix would work fine in the Falafel Burgers the flavours would be slightly different to our tested recipe but still taste great, hope that helps!

This is the most successful falafel recipe I have ever tried. Crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, nice round balls. However they were SOOO salty. I will use about a quarter of the recommended amount next time. I only used 1tsp of chilli as I ran out and felt that was also too much.

I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong. Followed recipe exactly but mixture was far too goopy. Had to add LOADS of flour to be able to handle. What have I done wrong?
Thanks

    Hi Louise,

Perhaps you didn’t drain and rinse the chickpeas fully? This would add additional liquid to the mixture and make it less easy to handle.

    Hope that helps!

Made these a few times now. Need to adjust chilli powder and salt measurements to maybe half a teaspoon. Too hot and salty. But I do love falafel ????

Tried this recipe was lovely, the only thing I changed was that I used fresh chick peas. Makes the world of difference. Delicious recipe and very filling.
