Low Syn Pizza Express Romana La Reine Pizza | Slimming World

Since joining slimming world back in February, one of the foods I’ve really missed is pizza from Pizza Express, and my particular favourite, their “Romana La Reine”! So, I came up with this Low Syn Pizza Express Romana La Reine Pizza.

Made using a B Free Multigrain Wrap for the base (using your HEB or 4.5 syns), a “no cook” easy to make pizza sauce, protein cheese or zero fat cheese (as you get a whopping 70g for HEA), and the La Reine toppings, with a couple of delicious extras!

There are a couple of protein or virtually zero fat cheeses that you can use as your HEA. Take a look at the Slimming World app or Syns Online to find a suitable one.

You can of course use regular low or reduced fat cheese if you can’t get hold of a protein or zero fat one.

You don’t get as much for your HEA allowance, but if you use one of these handy little graters. It grates cheese very finely, so it seems like you’re getting a lot more for your 40g!

You could also use a Weight Watchers Wrap as your HEB option.

Please note, the Syn value of Weight Watchers Wraps has changed, but they are still an HEB option. However, if you do not use them as an HEB you should now Syn them at 6 Syns each.

This delicious pizza is just 3 syns for the whole thing, which is a tiny fraction compared with the Pizza Express version, which will set you back at 39 syns! You can of course swap out some of the toppings for your favourites, adjusting the syns accordingly.

To make the pizza
  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees fan, and line an oven tray with parchment/greaseproof paper
  2. Place the B free wrap on to the parchment/greaseproof paper, and spoon on the pizza sauce, using the back of the spoon to spread evenly across the base and to the edges
  3. Sprinkle on 1/3 of the cheese, and add a layer of ham/mushroom/salami/ chillies/sliced olives
  4. Sprinkle another 1/3 of the cheese and add the rest of the ham/salami/mushrooms/chillies/sliced olives and also the tomato halves
  5. Sprinkle over the remaining 1/3 of the cheese, place the halved olive in the centre for decoration, and place in the centre of the oven, baking for 12 mins, until the edges are browning, and the cheese is bubbling
  6. Serve with your choice of sides, such as a fresh salad and our Syn free chunky chips!
To make the 'No Cook' Pizza Sauce
  1. Place all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well and set aside for at least 30 mins in the refrigerator so the flavours can infuse
  2. When ready to use, removed the required amount and the remainder can be refrigerated for up to 5 days

  1. I didnt make my pizza toppings the exact same as this but wanted to say the pizza sauce was perfect, really spot on. Portion wise this is definitely a lunch or supper as opposed to dinner. Thanks!

  2. Probably a very silly question but I don’t want to buy more jars of herbs that then languish at the back of the cupboard: can I use fresh garlic, parsley and basil for the pizza sauce? I assume the rosemary is fresh?

      Using fresh herbs would be absolutely fine! You may need to adjust the amounts of each herb to suit your personal taste, as dried herb quantities will be lower than fresh. 🙂
