What do I need to cook these Syn Free Chicken Tikka Kebabs?
There are a few things you need to make this Syn Free Chicken Tikka Kebabs. Some are necessary and some are ideal – they’ll make your life easier for sure!
- Good quality chicken breasts
- A jar with a tight lid
- Bamboo skewers
- A cast iron griddle pan
For the chicken breasts, I’d urge you to get hold of our Protein Food Shop hampers. They’re packed full of the BEST quality meat we’ve ever come across from an online butcher. The hamper is incredible value for money, working out FAR cheaper than the supermarket.
The chicken breasts are lovely, plump and don’t have that horrid vac-pack smell when you open them up!
As for the jar with the light lid – it’s needed to store the rest of the Tikka Seasoning Mix in. I use these Kilner herb jars from Amazon, they’re really good quality, and will keep your mix fresh and dry.
The bamboo skewers you can probably pick up from any supermarket, they’re on offer in a few supermarkets at the moment!
Lastly the cast iron griddle pan, this has to be the most used pan in our kitchen. It conducts heat so well, and is suitable for all stove surfaces. You also get those lovely griddle marks on your meat too.

How do I make and cook these Syn Free Chicken Tikka Kebabs?
This is one of our easier recipes! Literally all you do is cut the chicken up, marinade and cook. It doesn’t get much easier.
Make the Tikka Seasoning Mix by mixing together all of the ingredients in the recipe below. Store them in a jar with a tight lid as you won’t use all of it, so best to keep some for later.
Chop the chicken into chicken nugget sized pieces, and pop in a bowl along with the lemon juice. Add 2 tbsp of the Tikka Seasoning Mix (in the recipe below) and mix well, then add the yoghurt and repeat. You want to make sure all of the chicken pieces are coated.
Cover the bowl with clingfilm and leave the chicken to marinade in the fridge for at least an hour, but no more than 6 hours.
Preheat your oven to 200°C, pop your pan on the stove to heat up and thread the chicken onto the skewers.
We want to give the Syn Free Chicken Tikka Kebabs some colour first, so pop them in the griddle pan/frying pan to brown. Then place in the preheated oven for 5-10 minutes until cooked through.
