Earlier today we bought you the story of the recall at budget supermarket Aldi, which resulted in a product line of their frozen mixed vegetables being recalled due to a customer finding part of a rat in their packet.
Not surprisingly, there has been quite the reaction to this news on our Facebook group!
Most people commenting on the thread of our original article are understandably horrified at the thought of bits of rat in their frozen mixed veg, as you can clearly see.
Some opting for a more rational approach to the news, stating that it’s more of an issue with the supplier rather than Aldi themselves.
One member of our Facebook group took it upon themselves to make contact with Aldi customer services direct.
In the comment, it states that the representative from Aldi customer services said that the issue was a localised one, stating that ‘only Cardiff and Swindon’ were affected.
Whilst this news has not been confirmed to us by Aldi direct, we have approached the supermarket for a statement on this, and we will keep you updated on any comment we receive from Aldi direct.
It should be noted that Aldi have stated already that they removed the product from sale on January 5th, so in theory any packets of this product purchased after that should not be affected.
If you are unsure whether your particular product in your freezer if affected by this recall, our tip is to contact Aldi direct.
We will update you with any further statements we receive from Aldi.
