Mulled Wine - Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

For the full list of ingredients and comprehensive instructions, please see the recipe card at the end of this post. Before you scroll, there’s important stuff to know in the blurb!

In our opinion it isn’t Christmas until we’ve had a delicious mug of warm, Mulled Wine!

All of the sugar and alcohol in traditional Mulled Wine means that it can come in at a hefty 200 calories a glass! Our slimming friendly version has all of the classic flavours that you’d expect from Mulled Wine, but with far less calories.

We’ve used slimline ginger ale in place of some of the wine in order to keep the calories lower and it adds a really nice, spicy warmth too.

Although this recipe doesn’t take too long to cook on the hob, if you’d prefer you could also make this Mulled Wine in the slow cooker.

Simply place all of the ingredients apart from the amaretto into your slow cooker and leave it on low for a couple of hours until it’s heated through. Add the amaretto just before serving and enjoy!

I make this with red grape juice instead of the wine for a non-alcoholic version and it’s lushalicious as well as being perfect for the tee-totallers and nominated drivers x
