Do you need any special ingredients to make this Chocolate Brownies recipe?

These Chocolate Brownies are really simple to make, so don’t worry if you’re new to baking!

You’ll need some Choc Shot. It’s made by a company called Sweet Freedom, and you can get it in most supermarkets in the free from aisle or by the hot chocolate. It’s a low sugar chocolate sauce that’s almost a syrup. We always have a bottle in the cupboard, and it makes a great hot chocolate. You can even experiment with their other flavours like spiced orange or coconut!

It’s really important that you use self-raising flour and not plain flour as this helps with the rise. It’s also important to make sure you use baking powder and not baking soda.

How do you know when these Chocolate Brownies are cooked?

These Chocolate Brownies should be slightly risen, with a little gooeyness in the middle. They won’t be quite as sticky as a full calorie version but they’re still really tasty.

It’s best to under cook these brownies just a tiny bit, and leave them to cool in the tin. This carries on the cooking process so they’ll be just perfect!

Cook them for 16-17 minutes in the oven.

How long can you keep these Chocolate Brownies?

Store these brownies in an airtight tin. They will keep for 3-4 days.

If you find they’re a little stale, pop into the microwave for 10-20 seconds to freshen up.

Can I freeze Chocolate Brownies?

Yes you can! This recipe can be frozen, but please remember to do the following;

  • Freeze it as soon as it is cold enough.
  • Use a container or bag that is suitable for freezing.

Don’t forget to add a label with what it is, and on what date you put it in the freezer!
