1 Serving

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of medium thick white bread, approx. 39g
  • 2 medium eggs beaten
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp icing sugar
  • 3 currants to decorate
  • low-calorie cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Draw a simple outline of a ghost on a small piece of thin card. We made our ghost template about 8cm tall and 8cm wide, but you may need to adjust the size to make sure it leaves a border all around when placed on your slice of bread. Cut out the ghost template and set aside.

  2. Place the ground cinnamon and icing sugar in a ramekin dish and stir until completely mixed.

  3. Pour the beaten eggs onto a plate. Lay the slice of bread in the beaten egg and leave to soak for a minute or two. Carefully turn the bread over using a fish slice and soak the other side for a minute or two.

  4. Spray a small non-stick frying pan with low-calorie cooking spray and place over a low heat. When the pan is hot, place the egg-soaked bread slice in the pan and cook for about 2 minutes until lightly golden. You can gently lift the edge of the bread with a fish slice to see if it's ready to turn. Flip the bread and continue to cook the other side for a further 2 minutes or until lightly golden.

  5. Transfer the toast to a serving plate. Place the cinnamon and icing sugar mixture in a small sieve and lay the ghost template in the centre of your toast. Hold the template firmly in place and dust all exposed parts of the slice well with the cinnamon and icing sugar mixture. Carefully lift off the template and you should see your ghost appear!

  6. Use two currants for eyes and one for the mouth and serve immediately, either on its own or with a teaspoon of low-calorie chocolate syrup.
