Chocolate French Toast

  • 60 grams wholemeal bread
  • ½ tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tbsp granulated sweetener
  • low calorie cooking spray


  1. Mix the egg, spices and sweetener in a shallow dish.
  2. Cut the crusts off the bread and evenly spread the chocolate spread over one slice. Pop the second slice on top to create a sandwich.
  3. Put the "sandwich" into the egg mixture. Leave to soak up the egg and spices for a minute, then turn and leave for another minute to soak on the opposite side.
  4. Place a non-stick frying pan on a medium heat and spray with low calorie cooking spray. Carefully place the French Toast into the frying pan and fry on each side for about 3 minutes until golden and crisp.

  5. Serve immediately with your choice of garnish!
