Banana Fritters

  • 3 medium bananas
  • 50 g self-raising flour sifted
  • 50 ml skimmed milk
  • 1 medium egg
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp icing sugar
  • low calorie cooking spray


  1. Place the flour, egg, milk and salt in a mixing bowl and mix into a smooth batter. Leave to stand for a few minutes while you prepare the bananas.

  2. Peel the bananas and slice into bite-sized pieces.

  3. Spray a frying pan with low calorie cooking spray, set on a low-medium heat and allow the pan to heat up.

  4. Dip the banana pieces into the batter and add to the pan. Depending on the size of your pan it might be best to cook the banana in batches.

  5. Fry the bananas for 2 minutes turning every so often to brown on all sides.

  6. Remove from the pan once golden brown. Dust with icing sugar and serve.
