Soft Boiled Eggs

  • 4 large eggs
  • boiling water
  • salt and pepper


  1. Bring a pan of water to the boil, put the eggs in gently as you don't want to crack them! It's easier if you put them on a slotted spoon and lower them in.
  2. Turn the heat down slightly so they are on a fast simmer. Set your timer for 6 minutes!
  3. While the eggs are cooking, fill a bowl with ice and water - set to one side.
  4. Once the 6 minutes are up, use a slotted spoon to remove the eggs from the pan and plunge them into the bowl of iced water. Leave them in the iced water for 30-40 seconds.
  5. Then peel the eggs carefully, making sure to keep dipping them in the water. It will help make the soft boiled eggs easier to peel.
  6. Et voila!! The perfect soft boiled eggs ready to enjoy however you like.
