Peel the carrots and swede, then cut into them into chunks
Put the carrot and swede into a large saucepan of salted water. Bring the pan to the boil, then cover and simmer for about 30 minutes until soft
Drain in a colander. Return the veg to the pan, then add a few sprays of low calorie cooking spray and season to taste with some sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
Mash (using a vegetable masher) until the carrot and swede reaches the consistency you prefer (we like it quite smooth)
Check the seasoning again, adjust if necessary and serve
