Baked Spicy Meatballs

  • 24 low fat meatballs we used shop bought low fat ones
  • 2 cloves garlic finely crushed
  • 500 ml tomato passata
  • 1 tbs dried oregano
  • 140 grams light mozzarella
  • 60 grams fresh parmesan finely grated
  • 2 red chilli finely chopped
  • low calorie cooking spray


  1. Pre heat the oven to 160 degrees. Spray a large frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and sear the meatballs until the outsides are brown.

  2. Add the garlic and chilli and cook for 2 minutes, being careful not to burn it. Stir in the tomato passata and herbs and put the meatballs and sauce into an ovenproof dish.
  3. Top with chunks of the mozzarella and sprinkle over the parmesan. Bake for 35 minutes until the cheese is golden. Serve with spaghetti and green beans.
