Bacon and Cheese Turnovers

  • 2 low calorie tortilla wraps
  • 8 bacon medallions
  • 80 g reduced fat cheddar finely grated
  • 1 medium egg beaten
  • low calorie cooking spray


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C.

  2. Spray a frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and place over a medium heat. Add the bacon and cook on both sides for 2 minutes or until cooked through and set aside.

  3. Line a baking tray with foil and spray well with low calorie cooking spray. Set aside.

  4. Cut the tortilla wraps into quarters. Each piece will look like a triangle with a curved edge. Fold in the tip of the triangle by 1cm to square it off.

  5. Add some cheese followed by 1 bacon medallion into the middle of each piece.

  6. Brush the edges of the tortilla pieces with the beaten egg and fold in the two outer points. Place top side down on the baking tray and lightly brush the back with some beaten egg. Repeat until all the pieces are done.

  7. Spray the turnovers with low calorie cooking spray and place in the middle of the oven for 10 minutes or until golden.

  8. Flip the pastries over and brush the tops with the rest of the beaten egg. Spray with low calorie cooking spray and place back in the oven for another 5 minutes, or until the tops are golden.

  9. Remove from the oven and serve.
