You might not expect to be able to make macaroni cheese all in one pot, but with this simple (and delicious) recipe you can! We’ve loaded our extra-cheesy pasta dish with chicken and bacon, to make it feel especially decadent. You’d never be able to tell from the taste that we’ve used reduced-fat spreadable cheese to make the creamy, slimming-friendly sauce. As a final step, don’t skip toasting the breadcrumb topping under the grill – it adds the perfect golden crunch.

This freezes well. When reheating after defrosting, you may need to add a splash of water.

You could use 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme instead of the fresh thyme.

A really easy recipe and delicious too! Only tip I have is check the gram size when you buy the spreadable cheese as you need 175g for this and a standard tube is 140g. My mistake but luckily this didn’t have any effect and cooked perfectly!
