Harissa Chicken Mac ‘N’ Cheese
We’ve given macaroni cheese a North African-inspired twist to create this unexpected flavour combination! Harissa is a tangy paste of chilli, garlic and other spices that comes in a variety of different heat options. We’ve used medium-spicy harissa to coat the tender chicken chunks in this recipe. We love that you don’t need to mess around making a flour-based cheese sauce in a separate pot – simply stir in some spreadable cheese, sprinkle with Parmesan, grill until golden and you’re ready to serve.
Hints & Tips
Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.
We use a reduced-fat mature Cheddar spreadable cheese such as Seriously Spreadable Lighter. It has a strong cheesy flavour and consistency that melts to form the cheese sauce in this recipe. Cream cheese would not be suitable in this recipe.
