How many Syns are in these Mini Christmas Cheesecakes?

These Mini Christmas Cheesecakes are just 1 Syn each! That is a hefty Syn saving when compared to a standard cheesecake, and they certainly don’t compromise on flavour or richness!

It is important in this recipe, to use a sweetener which weighs the same as sugar. If you are using a powdered sweetener then please check how it compares to sugar. In some cases you’ll need to use less because powdered sweetener weighs less.

Synning the sweetener

As you will probably know Slimming World have brought out some new recommendations regarding the Syn value of granulated sweeteners. Slimming World have confirmed what this change means.

Where there is 1 tbsp or more being used per serving we recommend members count 0.5 Syn per tbsp. If using smaller amounts, like a pinch or teaspoon, there’s no need to worry about Syns at all.

The recipe for these Mini Christmas Cheesecakes uses 3 tablespoons of sweetener and is divided into 24 portions.

That’s way less than a tablespoon per portion, so there’s no need to add any Syns for the sweetener itself.

You could even serve them with some fresh fruit to make a proper dessert! Why not choose something different from our Slimming World Speed Food List?

  1. I don’t drink alcohol so wondering Could these be made completely without the rum? Or would it have to be substituted with something else?

    1. Hello Sairah
One of our members has suggested using mincemeat instead of the rum-soaked raisins. Maybe you could try this too?

    1. Hi Karen
The quark probably wouldn’t bake well, as it can split when used for cooking if it isn’t handled very carefully. We would recommend sticking with the Philadelphia for best results. 🙂

    1. Hi Mary
I think that 1 to 1.5 tbps should be plenty. Mincemeat is 2 Syns per level tbsp, so you’d need to swap out the raisins and brandy, add the mincemeat and adjust your Syn values accordingly.

    1. Hi Julie
They would keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 48hrs. We haven’t tried freezing them, but there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be frozen.

    1. Hi Catherine
Someone in the Facebook group switched the raisins and rum for sweet mincemeat and adjusted the syn values accordingly. If you’re really not keen on dried fruit, you could add the flesh of an orange, plus some orange zest and spices to give a festive flavour. Again, check the syns for whatever you choose to use.

  2. I made these at Christmas and they were simply amazing just wondering if I could switch it up to lemon and raspberry flavours what do you think?

      1. Hi janie,
Many Thanks we are having a taster at group on friday for the woman of the year comp so i will do them on thursday n will let you know xx

        1. Hi janie
The lemon and raspberry cheesecakes went down very well at the group taster on Friday. I made 24 raspberry and 24 lemon I only returned home with 1 raspberry. I will definitely be making more very soon Thank you for all your help and advice
          Kind regards
          Vanessa

    1. Hi June
You could substitute the dairy products in this recipe for dairy free alternatives, but you’ll need to recalculate the Syns according to whichever products you choose instead. Hope that helps. 🙂
