There is pretty much nothing more versatile than these Syn Free Slimming World Chips – you can have them as a snack, for lunch, with dinner, or even breakfast!

You could also try different seasonings on them – some garlic granules, oregano and a pinch of chilli would give an Italian flavour, or ground cumin and paprika would give a Tex Mex feel.

What do I need to make these Syn Free Slimming World Chips?

This Syn Free Slimming World Chips recipe shows you two different methods to cook these chips. But there’s no need to get a chip on your shoulder about what method to use (sorry, couldn’t resist…). Both methods are equally good!

The Actifry Method

If you choose to use an air-fryer to make your Syn Free Slimming World Chips, you’ll find that they cook quicker than if you use the oven method.

We have tried all sorts of air-fryers and really can’t beat the Tefal Actifry Express XL. You can read our review here!

We’ve got loads of recipes which use the Actifry, such as these amazing Syn Free Dirty Fries!

The Oven Method

You can make these Syn Free Slimming World Chips in the oven too!

You’ll need a really good baking tray like this one which you can pick up on Amazon.

The Oil

You can’t make chips without oil. Whenever we need to replace oil in cooking we use Frylight. Perfect for everyday frying and cooking, it delivers exactly one calorie per spray, which makes it Syn free! We used the Rapeseed Oil one for this Syn Free Slimming World Chips recipe, and it was fab!

The Potatoes

There’s always lots of debate about which potatoes to use for chips.

These Syn Free Slimming World Chips use King Edward potatoes. We found they hold their shape, without being too fluffy and breaking up. It’s a potato which has a little bit of waxiness but which crisps up well!

You could also use Maris Piper potatoes, which are slightly fluffier, though these may break up a little if you are using the Actifry method.

Peeling potatoes can be a faff, but we love the Deiss potato peeler – it’s super sharp but has loads of different functions and can whip through a bag of potatoes in no time!.

How many Syns are in these Syn Free Slimming World Chips?

These Syn Free Slimming World Chips are…errrrm…Syn Free! They taste amazing, and a chip off the old block of the chip shop version (last one, I promise…)

Imagine how many Syns you are saving on the chip shop version?! Even oven chips carry a Syn value so these Syn Free Slimming World Chips are well worth making!
