Spiced Christmas Biscuits are suitable for vegetarian diets.

Do you need any special ingredients to make these Spiced Christmas Biscuits?

It is important to use a good quality, crunchy granulated sweetener that is the same weight and sweetness as sugar, such as Sugarly, Natvia or Sukrin. Powdery sweeteners won’t work as well, and you won’t get the same texture!

To make an even dough, a rolling pin which measures the thickness of your dough would be really handy.

We’ve used a 6cm star cutter, and don’t forget the ready made writing icing if you want to get decorating!

I’m not a fan of cinnamon, is there anything else I can use to make it warm and christmassy? Or would they just be nice without? Thank you 🙂

Hey Claudia, you could swap the cinnamon for mixed spice which is full of Christmas flavours, It does still have cinnamon in but has other spices too so shouldn’t be as noticeable. Or if you’d rather not use any spices you could add the zest of 1 orange or add 1 tsp vanilla extract. Hope that helps!

Hi Linda, We haven’t tried making these with dairy free spread or GF flour these swaps could alter the texture of the finished biscuits slightly but do let us know how you get on if you try them out!

Hi,
Would you be able to swap the butter for margarine?
Thank you,

Hi Jen, We haven’t tried making these with margarine but in baking swapping the butter for margarine can alter the texture and the finished biscuits may end up less crisp. Hope that helps!
