Tender turkey with a delicious savoury stuffing is one of the highlights of a Christmas dinner, so we’ve developed a delicious stuffing with a festive twist!
With all the traditional flavours you’d expect including pork, sage and onion, we’ve added smoked bacon, chestnuts and sweet cranberries for a Christmassy flavour you’ll want to enjoy all year round!
This Chestnut Stuffing couldn’t be simpler to make either, starting on the stove top and finished off in the oven for a crispy, warming bite that will suit a roast dinner perfectly.
As an added bonus, it’s freezable too, meaning you can make it up in advance ready to defrost on Christmas Eve, saving some of that valuable prep time for other things. Try it with all the trimmings, and you may never go back to ‘normal’ stuffing again!
If you’d rather chestnuts take centre stage, we’ve created a delicious Chestnut Roast for a veggie friendly centrepiece:

What diets is this Chestnut Stuffing suitable for?
Chestnut Stuffing can be enjoyed on dairy free diets.
It can be made suitable for gluten free diets, as long as you substitute the Worcestershire sauce and wholemeal breadcrumbs for suitable gluten free alternatives.
We like to use Henderson’s Relish as a gluten free alternative to Worcestershire sauce as it’s widely available and has a pretty similar taste.
If you’re cooking for people with allergies, be extra careful when checking ingredients and preparing food!
Do you need any special ingredients to make Chestnut Stuffing?
You’ll need chestnuts to make this dish! In the run up to Christmas, chestnuts are widely available at supermarkets, and the rest of the ingredients are easy to find too.
You’ll also need a mixing bowl and a baking sheet. You can cover the baking sheet with greaseproof paper to make washing up a little easier, too!
