Syn Free Broccoli Cheese | Slimming World

This Syn Free Broccoli Cheese recipe uses the same sauce we use in our Speedy Carbonara recipe…….it’s syn free if you use your HexA allowance but if you prefer to syn the cheese you can (6 syns for 40g)

We prefer to make 4 individual portions rather than making one big one. That way you control the amount of cheese you are getting on each portion!

If you want the top to go brown, then just place it under the grill for a few minutes. But, be careful it doesn’t burn.

The sauce is made of cauliflower, and whilst it might sound odd – it really is delicious. You can add some Butter Buds if you want, to give the sauce a buttery taste, but don’t forget they are 1/2 a syn for a sachet so you’ll have to add that on.

If you haven’t got any Butter Buds you can pick some up on Amazon. They are ideal to flavour foods like potatoes, vegetables, pasta and rice and as a substitute for butter, margarine or oil in cooking and baking.

Can I freeze this Syn Free Broccoli Cheese?

This recipe can be frozen, but please remember to do the following;
– Freeze it as soon as it is cold enough
– Use a container or bag that is suitable for freezing.
– Defrost thoroughly before reheating.

Make sure it’s piping hot before serving!

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Fry onion and garlic with bit of frylight for 5 mins
  2. Place the onion and garlic in food processor, add the cauliflower and pulse for 5-10 seconds
  3. Tip into a pan, add the 2 Knorr stock cubes and 300ml of water Cook for 20 mins, med-high heat, stirring frequently
  4. Once cooked tip everything back into the food processor/blender and blend on high for 1 minute
  5. Place the cooked broccoli into an oven proof dish (or you can use 4 smaller dishes to make 4 individual portions)
  6. Season the sauce (and add the Butter Buds if you're using them) Stir, then pour over the broccoli and top with the grated cheese
  7. Cook in a pre heated oven (approx 200°C) for 20 minutes or until golden brown
