Broccoli Cheese | Slimming World & Weight Watchers Friendly

For the full list of ingredients and comprehensive instructions, please see the recipe card at the end of this post. Before you scroll, there’s important stuff in the blurb 👍

We prefer to make 4 individual portions rather than making one big one. That way you control the amount of cheese you are getting on each portion!

If you want the top to go brown, then just place it under the grill for a few minutes. But, be careful it doesn’t burn.

The sauce is made of cauliflower, and whilst it might sound odd – it really is delicious. You can add some Butter Buds if you want, to give the sauce a buttery taste, but don’t forget each sachet is 10 calories or 1/2 a Syn, so you’ll have to add that on.

  1. This has completely changed my sw journey. I hate quark and was desperate for a great cheese sauce, this is absolutely delicious! Thank you so much 😘 x

  2. Hi

Sounds lovely. Is the 40g cheese for the full recipe (4) or if so would it be 6 syns divided by 4 portions. Thanks – loving your recipes! Mary

    1. Hi Mary
The full recipe uses 40g cheese which is an HEA allowance. It makes 4 servings, so would use a quarter of your HEA allowance, or you can Syn at 1.5 Syns per portion. Hope that helps. 🙂

    1. Hi Sarah
You pulse the raw cauliflower in the food processor first, with the onion & garlic that has been fried off. This mix is then cooked in a pan with stock cubes and water. After 20 mins, tip back into food processor and blend until smooth. Hope that helps! 🙂

    1. Hi Tracy
We’ve mentioned in the recipe blurb that this recipe can be frozen. Make sure it’s completely cool and store in a suitable container. We recommend defrosting thoroughly before reheating until piping hot throughout.
      Thanks for getting in touch!

  3. Any suggestions on what to serve it with please? Also, is the cauliflower sauce supposed to be thick or runny? Mine was very thick so I thinned it down and I’m not sure now. It’s in the oven as I type!

    1. Hi Caz
The sauce needs to be thick enough to coat the broccoli so it doesn’t slide off. If you’d prefer a slightly runnier consistency it’s fine to thin it down. I have served this with sausages or pork chops for a quick mid-week meal.
