When following a slimming diet, pasties are often strictly off the menu. Not anymore! With our Corned Beef Pasties, you can enjoy a filling, savoury pasty once more. One of our group members, Laura, came up with this fantastic recipe and it’s too good not to share!
You won’t believe how good these Corned Beef Pasties are. Super simple, and a filling made with only a handful of ingredients, you can be sure there are no hidden nasties in these pasties and they haven’t been covered in lashings of oil like many high street bakers do: you may never go back to the shop bought version.
The beauty of this technique is how versatile it is. You can experiment with different fillings and flavours, you can make them for picnics or as a snack and you can even serve with veggies and gravy for a substantial dinner.

Mine are in the oven – left over chicken curry, my mouth is watering already. Can’t wait to do the corned beef ones and the samosas also sound great. Great idea tgamks
BlondegirlThursday 27th July 2017
These are great.. my husband loved them too. I also cut the wraps in half, added a mix of instant pot mixed with chives, curry powder and frozen peas and made folded them up into parcels and egg washed them and baked.. Just like samosas.

Neil ClarkSunday 23rd July 2017
Whatever you do, don’t use the BeFree wraps! They don’t seal with the eggwash, and they can’t be crimped! Disaster!
Emma TTuesday 12th September 2017
Hi Neil,
We use the Weight Watchers wraps ????
Lynsey RingroseSaturday 22nd July 2017
Hi first time on here, these look amazing just wondering if quorn mince could be used instead of the corned beef? Thanks xx
KateWednesday 26th July 2017
Hi Lynsey
Yes, you could use Quorn mince instead, it would be like a meat and potato pasty, but without the meat 🙂
Jenny RimmerFriday 21st July 2017
Do you need to defrost the pasties before you cook or can you cook straight from frozen.
Emma TTuesday 12th September 2017
Hi Jenny,
They would reheat quicker if you were to defrost them first, plus you would need to be careful not to burn them if cooking from frozen ????
SarahWednesday 19th July 2017
How long will these keep in the fridge after cooking to have one cold for lunch?
StaceyTuesday 18th July 2017

JudeSaturday 15th July 2017
So look can’t wait to make these.ill do them with 5%mince if I can’t get the lean corned beef locally. Hubby will go nuts for these in his lunchbox and I’ll probaprobably try to do mini one for a picnic either the kids!! Pre “yummers”
Emma TTuesday 12th September 2017
Hi Jude,
Hope you enjoy them!
AngelaSaturday 15th July 2017

Emma TTuesday 12th September 2017
Hi Angela,
You could try milk, but it might not be as effective ????
Helen WallsFriday 14th July 2017
Do you need to prick the pasties to avoid them bursting?
samThursday 13th July 2017
What would the sun value be with GF wraps please?
CatrinThursday 13th July 2017
Can you freeze them (wraps uncooked)?
Elizabeth RoseWednesday 12th July 2017
I have made these this evening, but as my husband is vegetarian I used a mixture of potato, onion, parsley and cheese mixed with a little milk, they look yummy and tasted yummy too.
I used tortilla wraps, but found it didn’t want to stick together very well, are tortilla wraps different from wraps please?
Tracy WoodWednesday 12th July 2017
I found it allmost impossible to crimp the edges of the glutinous free wraps in fact it seemed a waste of ingredients it simply would not stick with the use of a fork so any tips would be brilliant as the idea of a pasty could have been heaven !
KateThursday 13th July 2017
Hi Tracy
Gluten actually helps things stick together, so the gluten free wraps aren’t the ideal as you will have problems with the edges. The edges of the WW ones do stick a lot better
JackiTuesday 11th July 2017
Could anyone tell me the actual calories in these please ?
KateThursday 13th July 2017
Hi Jacki
The calorie count has now been added to the recipe
SusanTuesday 11th July 2017
Just tried to make these with the Bfree wraps but couldn’t get edges to stick together no matter what we tried!????
Emma TTuesday 12th September 2017
Hi Susan,
I think the BFree wraps are a bit tricky which is why we used the Weight Watchers wraps!
Debra-AnneTuesday 11th July 2017
I like the idea of these but as an alternative would do a curry or chilli version using 5% fat or less mince, chicken or just veg plus cut the wraps in half to make bitesize ones for parties or picnics
MillyTuesday 11th July 2017
Would these work for weight watchers please
KateTuesday 11th July 2017
Hi Milly
Yes they would. We have now updated the recipe with the number of Smart Points per pasty
JulieTuesday 11th July 2017
Can I freeze the pasties once made and cooked?
KateTuesday 11th July 2017
Hi Julie
Yes you can!
Pat HoughtonMonday 10th July 2017
Do you have to egg wash the underside when you turn them over?
FarahSunday 9th July 2017
These look delicious. I don’t live in the UK and don’t have access to wraps like those, only normal wraps. I was trying to think of a suitable substitute, do you think filo pastry would work?
MargaretSunday 9th July 2017
Never seen low fat corned beef where can I but this
Helen WilliamsSunday 9th July 2017
I’ve waited so long for these
Would it be possible to freeze them, either cooked or uncooked?
Thank you x
Sheila KennealyySunday 25th February 2018
Do you mash the potato and corned beef or cut in chunks
SoniaFriday 7th July 2017

KateTuesday 11th July 2017
Hi Sonia
Yes, minced beef would work well!
