Hey Mandy, it is best to defrost overnight in the fridge and reheat from chilled until piping hot. Hope that helps!

I’m so chuffed to find this recipe, having been newly diagnosed with coeliac disease I thought kfc was gone forever! I find super spicy things hard to tolerate, would these still work ok with plain tortilla chips? Thanks so much!

Hey Katy, yes the KFC Zinger Burger will work with plain tortilla chips for the coating and alter the calories accordingly, hope that helps!

Hi, I have your books and love them, I love this recipe but I would like to know what is approximate weight of chicken breasts you use for your recipes so I can stay within the calories please?

Reply

    HollyWednesday 7th April 2021

Hey Bridget, chicken breast weights and sizes can vary from brand to brand but an average chicken breast is approximately 130g – 180g hope that helps!

What size chicken are people using to only have 211 calories? The chicken breasts I use were 340g and this meant way more calories than just 211? Thanks

Hi Sarah, a lot of people in our facebook community suggest lining the baking tray with greaseproof paper if you are struggling with the chicken sticking, hope that helps!

How can you do sweet potato fries as a side to this burger when there is more than 20 degrees difference in the cooking temperatures?

Reply

    HollyMonday 15th March 2021

Hi Vicky, it will just mean one will cook for longer at the lower temperature so it may be best to pop either the chicken or the fries in first depending on which oven temperature you pick and then add the other later on, hope that helps!

Could you make this in the air fryer?

Reply

    HollyFriday 12th March 2021

Hi Kelly, yes this could be made in the air-fryer preheat to 180ºC and cook for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and there is no pinkness remaining, hope that helps!

These went down so well with the boys (8 and 10), they even said they’d rather have homemade Zinger burgers than actual KFC!! We teamed the burgers with Pinch of Nom’s homemade fries for the ultimate combo. Quick, easy and healthy recipe.

I made these the other night and we had them in wraps with salad. They went down a treat with everyone. The only things is 30g Doritos wasn’t enough to coat 4 chicken breasts or am I doing something wrong. I needed more to get a decent coverage for all 4 breast?

Reply

    HollyMonday 25th January 2021

Hi Suki, you may have slightly larger chicken breasts than what we used for the recipe so the coating isn’t covering all of the chicken. You could use a little more of the Dorito mixture and alter the calories accordingly using our guide HERE hope that helps!
