Frozen veggies are great: they are frozen as soon as possible after being picked, and so retain all the goodness of fresh. You can also get pre-prepared veg for ease, and practically eliminate waste because you just take out what you want to use and pop the rest back in the freezer for next time.
Packed full of nutrients, this colourful side is a great accompaniment to pretty much any main meal. Try Garlic Green Beans with a roast, alongside a quiche, or even cold mixed into a bean salad. It’s ideal for adding some greens to your dinner, but with plenty of wonderful garlicky flavour: soggy, bland beans are banished forever!

Garlic Green Beans can be enjoyed on gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan diets, so it’s great if you’re cooking for lots of dietary requirements! If you’re cooking for people with allergies, be extra careful when checking ingredients and preparing food.
Do you need any special ingredients to make Garlic Green Beans?

I make version of these minus the lemon juice with chopped tomatoes and onions. The more garlicky the better.

Hi, can I use fresh garlic? I don’t like the taste of the granules.
Thanks x

Yes, of course. Just use a couple of crushed cloves, or more if you like it really garlicky. Hope you enjoy the recipe!

Charlotte DuttonMonday 28th December 2020
Hi,
Has the lemon juice got to be fresh? Is there any alternative, thanks
LisaMonday 28th December 2020
Hi Charlotte. You can use bottled or squeezy lemon juice if you prefer. Generally 2 tablespoons is equal to the juice of one whole lemon, but do check the packaging because different brands may vary. Hope this help.
