You should cook these waffles until they are crisp on the outside. They should be cooked through but still soft in the centre.

Don’t forget to add a label with what it is, and on what date you put it in the freezer!
How do I reheat Strawberry and Vanilla Waffles?
Place the waffles on a baking tray and cook in an oven set to 170ºC for 10-15 minutes until hot – just keep an eye on them to ensure they don’t burn.
You could reheat these in the microwave for 5-6 minutes until piping hot. They probably won’t be as crispy this way.

I only have the very fine sweetener so should I use more or less compared to granulated?
Thank you x

Hi Caroline, we have an article HERE that explains the types of sweeteners we use, you might find it helpful
Rosemarie OrrWednesday 20th January 2021
Hi! I love this recipe! i was just wondering, does the total calories include the 100g of strawberries?
HollyThursday 21st January 2021
Hey Rosemarie, yes the calories include the strawberries. Hope that helps!
RosemarieWednesday 27th January 2021
Is it best to use rolled oats or porridge oats?
LisaThursday 28th January 2021
Hi Rosemarie
Either type can be used as they are blitzed to get a fine texture. Hope this helps.
LisaThursday 2nd July 2020
Mine always take waaay longer to cook (50 mins?) and are still soft in the middle and I can’t get them out of the mold. Any tips?
HollyThursday 2nd July 2020
Hey Lisa, ovens play a big part in cooking times! Give your oven plenty of time to preheat so turn it onto the right temperature before you even start making the waffles some can take 15 minutes to heat up also you could try placing them higher up in the oven so on the top shelf as that might help them cook faster too. Hope that helps!

Will these work in a waffle iron too… or do they need to be baked in oven?
HollyWednesday 6th May 2020
Hey, yes these can be cooked in the waffle iron too!
EmmaSunday 23rd February 2020
Can you make them in a waffle maker rather than the moulds?
HollyWednesday 6th May 2020
Hi Emma, yes these will work great in a waffle maker!
LouiseWednesday 8th September 2021
I have a waffle maker but there are no times listed if anyone would use one. Can you advise how long it would take please x
HollyThursday 9th September 2021
Hey Louise, cooking time depends on your particular waffle maker so it might be best to refer to your machines guidelines but I’d suggest 4-6 minutes. There’s a good tip that when the steam stops coming out from the sides of the waffle maker it should be done but you can always open it up and if it’s not quite done cook it for a little longer. Hope that helps!

Can you make waffles with coconut flour?
LisaTuesday 26th May 2020
Hi Kerry. We haven’t tested this recipe with coconut flour. It behaves a little differently to wheat flour as it is more absorbent so generally requires more liquid. We wouldn’t advise a direct swap for this flour in the recipe. Hope this helps
Andrea HawkinsMonday 9th December 2019
Do you have to add the yogurt ? Alternative ?
Sharon FitzpatrickFriday 8th May 2020
Hi Andrea, thanks for your question. You do need to add the yogurt as it’s one of the main ingredients in the waffles. We have tested these using yogurt but maybe you could try them with quark instead? We would be interested to hear how you get on. Thanks for getting in touch.

CateWednesday 26th June 2019
Yes you can, it won’t effect the weight 🙂

Could I use Greek yogurt instead?
Emma TThursday 20th June 2019
Hi Clare,
Yes you could, though it may be a little too thick ????
Laura WinstanleySaturday 16th February 2019
Can you store these room temperature in a tub for the next morning? I put in the fridge overnight but they went a bit chewy.
Gillian HopeWednesday 9th January 2019
Hi,
I’m still getting my head around this recipe; but am I daft or can you not simply use oatmeal instead of blitzing the porridge oats? Would it not then be the same thing?
Thanks,
Gillian.

Has anyone tried making these with Al-pro yogurt or another vegan alternative? Did they turn out okay?
ChristineFriday 19th March 2021
I made them this morning with Alpro coconut yoghurt and they were lovely.
HollyMonday 22nd March 2021
Hi Christine, thanks for getting in touch so glad you enjoyed this recipe!
JodiMonday 28th May 2018
Hi, tried these this morning, used a strawberry mullerlight, they tasted lovely but they stuck to the silicone mould a little so they didn’t have the ‘waffle look’. Does anyone know how to prevent from sticking please?
Anna BlakeSaturday 8th January 2022
I always spray fry light on the mould before filling it with the mixture
HollyMonday 10th January 2022
Hi Anna, thank you so much for your recipe tip!
PaulaMonday 30th April 2018
Can these be made with oat bran instead of porridge oats ?
SuFriday 16th March 2018
Are these really 459 calories? That seems a lot for the ingredients listed.
CharlotteWednesday 14th February 2018

HayleyWednesday 24th January 2018
Hi, I can’t wait to try these for my weekend brunch! Can you use a waffle maker instead of the mold. Thanks
JoWednesday 24th January 2018
Made these at the weekend. Very tasty. I did make a change to your recipe though. Having watched Nigella making normal
Waffles, she beat her egg whites to soft peaks. So I separated my eggs. Beat the whites then folded in to the rest.
They came out lovely and fluffy.
(I often find these ‘egg’ recipes come out very eggy. But we’re just like waffles. Some amazing ideas on your website. Thank you xx
MarcelleMonday 22nd January 2018
Do you think I could use ready brek instead of oats?
ClaireSunday 7th January 2018
I don’t have fat free natural yoghurt in the fridge but have lots of muller light. Would this work?
BeckySunday 22nd October 2017
These were really scrumpy and very filling. I tripled recipe for 3 people and it made 10 waffles so works out at 3 and a third waffles each! I could only eat 1

I only used 3 taps as not got a sweet tooth and really enjoyed them but will try them with 2 tbsp to see if there much of a difference
Naomi MorriceThursday 14th September 2017
Made the strawberry and vanilla waffles for our breakfast this morning. Absolutely delicious! They didn’t look quite as golden as the ones in the photograph. Was I supposed to brush them with egg/put on some sort of glaze before finishing off in the oven? Would love them to look more like yours!!!
Trisha LukeMonday 21st August 2017
Hi
I measured everything very carefully. Had too much mixture for the red silicone mould I had bought from Amazon. Made a quick pancake with surplus! What did I do wrong? Tasted very nice but not as brown as on the picture, even after putting back in the oven for the first extra 5 minutes.
Emma TMonday 11th September 2017
Hi Trisha,
Perhaps your mould was smaller than the one we used? All ovens vary, so it might be that your oven needs to be hotter to get them to brown better ????
