We’ve used Chipotle Chilli Flakesin this Tex Mex Burgers recipe. You can pick these up from Asda, or online from Amazon! They really have the most incredible flavour!

You will, however, need to make sure you’ve got a really decent Non-Stick Frying Pan to cook them in like this one from Amazon!

You could use a Burger Press press to make these Tex Mex Burgers – it’s great if you want to make them and freeze before cooking!

Has anyone tried this with vegetarian mince? If so, did it turn out ok?

do you have to put in the chipotle flakes in this recipe as they didn’t have any at the supermarket where I go to

Hi Louisa, you could add some chilli powder instead if you have any but the Tex Mex Burgers would work okay without the chipotle flakes. Hope that helps!

These burger deserve more comments, made them last night for me and the other half and I think they have been the second best burgers I have made (second to PON KFC fake away burgers) I couldn’t find the Chipotle Chilli Flakes at Asda as I think they sold out so gave the Habanero ones a go and with a bit of sauce and cheese they didn’t seem overly spicy as apposed to flavourful.
I wanted to make a few more burgers as i tend to like to freeze some for a rainy day and when i cba cooking and i input in the site to serve for 8 and i actually came out with 10 burgers with the burger press i use.
Safe to say ill be making them again, kep up the good work PON!!

Can’t believe I am the first to comment on these. These burgers are so delicious. They knock all other home made burgers out of the competition for flavour. Just about to make them tonight after previously only having them on the bbq in the summer. Need a little spice on a cold evening. Real deep flavours due to the chipotle spices. Cool on a low heat for longer to ensure they cook all the way through. I under cooked some once and they were cold in the middle. Not good.
