Gut Glory Salted Caramel Big Pot Yoghurt – 114 calories per 100g
Gut Glory’s Big Pot of Salted Caramel Yoghurt is so tasty you’ll want to eat the whole thing!
Salted caramel and strawberry are the only options available in the big pot range so far, but there are other flavours in lunchbox friendly four-packs if you’d prefer to take your yoghurt on the go.
We like that this Gut Glory Big Pot is such great value for money; from the point you’ve enjoyed your first spoonful, you’ll still have a few days where you can keep it handy in the fridge. SO convenient when you’ve got a sweet craving!
Yoghurt always goes so well with a fruity dessert, so you could top our Apple Crumble with a spoonful or two.
Gut Glory Salted Caramel Big Pot Yoghurt is available from Sainsbury’s, priced at £1.00 per pot.
Plant Menu No Meat Meatballs – 106 calories per serving (4 meatballs)
Plant Menu No Meat Meatballs are a cheap and cheerful plant-based meatball alternative available from Aldi. With a bag of these handy in the freezer, you’ll be part of the way towards a slimming friendly meal.
Suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets, these well-seasoned meatballs are super high in protein, so they’ll top up your energy levels after a long day. It doesn’t hurt that they’re really easy to bung in the oven and combine with a tasty, low calorie sauce.
You can make our Cheesy Mac n Meatballs veggie friendly by using Plant Menu No Meat Meatballs as a mince substitute (just be sure to adjust the calories accordingly).
We love this recipe because it has all the makings of being indulgent (it’s a cheese lover’s dream!) without the calories. The secret is a rich, creamy sauce you’d never be able to tell is mostly made with veggies.
You could even batch cook a few portions to enjoy another day.
Plant Menu No Meat Meatballs are available from Aldi, priced at £1.09.
GoVeggie Green Vegetable, Cheese & Pesto Sausages – 166 calories per serving (2 sausages)
Another one for the cheese lovers, these GoVeggie Green Vegetable, Cheese & Pesto Sausages sound so delicious! Using mushrooms and other veggies instead of meat, they’re also seasoned with a dreamy combo of cheddar cheese, garlic, pine nuts, and basil pesto.
Did someone say (aromatic) bangers and mash? Yep! You could serve these pesto laden sausages with our Creamy Mashed Potatoes for a tasty midweek dinner.
GoVeggie Green Vegetable, Cheese & Pesto Sausages are available from Waitrose, priced at £2.40.
Marmite Yeast Extract Dynamite Chilli – 22 calories per serving
Marmite’s distinctive savoury flavour is divisive on a normal day, so we couldn’t resist including this brand-new Marmite Yeast Extract in Dynamite Chilli in our Weekly Pinch of Shopping.
We think this spicy edition could convert some haters – with heavy hints of chilli, the intense umami flavour is met with a fiery kick. Whether you love it, hate it, or haven’t even tried it, marmite is a solid source of B vitamins, so it’s a healthy option to enjoy on a slice of wholemeal toast.
Why not swap out the traditional marmite for Dynamite Chilli in our Marmite Mushrooms on Toast recipe and start your day with a bang?
It’s an Everyday Light breakfast that’s super easy to make, so you can begin the day with lots of flavour and no fussing about.
Marmite Yeast Extract Dynamite Chilli is available from Sainsbury’s, priced at £4.00.
Olly’s Pretzels Thins Multi-seed Sesame– 98 calories per pack
If you’re on the lookout for a tasty oven-baked snack this week, why not pick up a bag of Olly’s Pretzels Thins Multi-seed Sesame? These tasty grab bags are low in calories and much lower in fat than standard crisps.
They’re an enjoyable snack on their own, but we think they were made to be dipped. The nutty sesame seeds would go perfectly with our low calorie Hummus Style Dip – you could even add a drizzle of hot sauce if you fancy the heat.
Olly’s Pretzels Thins Multi-seed Sesame Pretzel Thins are available at Sainsbury’s, priced at £1.00.
Chef Select Chicken, King Prawn and Chorizo Paella – 398 calories per bowl
We love anything that makes life that little bit easier! Lidl’s Chef Select Chicken, King Prawn and Chorizo Paella is a super easy grab and go lunch that’s only 398 calories per pot – so there’s no fussing with meal prep.
Much lower in sugar and fat than the traditional Spanish dish, this light and affordable lunch will taste like a holiday – especially if you add a squirt of lemon juice.
Speaking of a holiday, our Garlic Chilli Prawns taste just like sitting on a sun-soaked seafront. And you can have them prepped and ready in less than 20 minutes! You’ll need a wholemeal bread roll handy to mop up any leftover juices.
Chef Select Chicken, King Prawn and Chorizo Paella is available at Lidl, priced at £2.19.
Plot 9 Thai Chickpea Curry with Aromatic Rice – 320 calories per pot
From one grab and go lunch to another, this Plot 9 Thai Chickpea Curry with Aromatic Rice is a little lighter and seafood free.
There are a handful of veggie pot varieties you can choose from in the same range, including a Chipotle Bean Chilli and Rich Lentil Bolognese. We’ve gone with the Thai pot because it’s got plenty of fibrous chickpeas in it, so it’ll be a super filling midday boost.
Oh, and they’re ready in just two minutes! Perfect.
If you love aromatic Thai flavours, you’ll enjoy our refreshing Chopped Thai Chicken Salad. With lots of fresh veggies and sweet, juicy pineapple, it’ll excite your taste buds and add colour to your day.
Plot 9 Thai Chickpea Curry with Aromatic Rice is available at Morrison’s, priced at £2.50.
Califia Farms Vanilla Oat Milk – 167 calories per 100ml
Made from oats instead of cow’s milk, oat milk is low in saturated fat and enriched with vitamins. Sweet and refreshing, you’ll want to enjoy this one in a tall glass with a sugary treat.
We think banana bread would be the perfect accompaniment. You can save yourself the calories of a shop-bought version by baking our Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips recipe.
Light, easy to make and super convenient, you can even freeze your loaf leftovers for another time.
Califia Farms Vanilla Oat Drink is available at Sainsbury’s, priced at £1.25.
Bournville Brunch Bar Chocolate Chip – 136 calories per bar
Calling all dark chocolate lovers! Cadbury’s have introduced a rich, dark chocolate variety to their brunch bar range. Dark chocolate is lower in sugar than milk chocolate, so it’s a slightly healthier choice.
Made with dark chocolate chips, filling oats and drizzled in honey, Cadbury Bournville Brunch Bars provide a delicious bite when you’re in need of a sweet treat, and for only 136 calories per bar.
Our Chocolate Mud Pie has all the flavours of dark chocolate, with an oaty topping that gives it a delectable crunch. You won’t believe it’s low in calories!
We love how simple it is to make, and you can balance out the depth of the dark chocolate and coffee flavours by serving alongside fresh strawberries.
Cadbury Bournville Brunch Bar Chocolate Chip are available at Tesco, priced at £1.00.

Eek! We can’t wait to have Mary back on our screens next week with Great British Bake Off 2021 – to keep you going until then, we’ve picked out a zesty Mary Lemon Bundt Cake.
Mary’s done all the work here, so there’s no GBBO tent level pressure. Simply pop the kettle on, settle down and enjoy a slice with a cuppa.
If, like us, watching the bakers onscreen makes you want to go for Star Baker (without too much faff), we’ve got the perfect home-bake for you. How about our slimming friendly Lemon Drizzle Cake?
This handy loaf cake only needs 25 minutes in the oven before it’s fluffy and good to go. Ready, set, bake!
