These Low Syn Chocolate Rice Crispy Bites are really easy to make, and a great way to occupy the kids with some oven-free baking!

You’ll need a 20cm square baking tin like this one from Amazon.

Whenever we need to replace oil in cooking we use Frylight. Perfect for everyday frying and cooking, it delivers exactly one calorie per spray, which makes it Syn free! We used the Sunflower one for this Low Syn Chocolate Rice Crispy Bites recipe, and it was fab!

How do I make these Low Syn Chocolate Rice Crispy Bites?

Step 1

Chop the funsize mars bars into pieces and place into a microwaveable bowl with the reduced fat spread.

Step 2

Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir well – the mixture should be smooth.

Add the coco pops to the chocolate mixture and stir thoroughly, making sure all the coco pops are completely coated.

Step 4

Line the base of a 20cm square baking tin. Press the mixture firmly into the tin.

Step 5

Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave, being careful not to overheat.

Drizzle the white chocolate over the top of the crispy bites. Place the tin into a freezer for around an hour to firm up completely. You could leave in the fridge overnight.

Tip out of the tin. Cut into 30 equal squares and try not to eat them all at once!

INSTRUCTIONS

  5. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave, being careful not to overheat. Drizzle the white chocolate over the top of the crispy bites. Place the tin into a freezer for around an hour to firm up completely. You could leave in the fridge overnight.
  6. Tip out of the tin. Cut into 30 equal squares and try not to eat them all at once!

      Yes, that would be fine. If you chop it up and pop into a bowl over a pan of simmering water, just make sure that the bowl isn’t touching the water. 🙂

      If you scroll to the recipe card, we list the Syns for each ingredient separately. If you switch the coco pops for rice krispies you’ll need to check the Syn value for them and adjust the Syns total accordingly. 🙂
