First you’ll need a decent rolling pin, to make sure that the pastry is an even thickness. We use one of these nifty rolling pins from Joseph Joseph, which you can find on Amazon.

You’ll also need a pastry cutter. We’ve used a star shaped one, and you can get a set of these on Amazon. You can make these Spiced Plum Puffs as big or as small as you want (we got 16 out of the recipe), just be sure to adjust the nutritional values accordingly.

How many calories are in these Spiced Plum Puffs?

There are 24 calories per portion in these Spiced Plum Puffs, which means they fall into our Everyday Light category.

These Spiced Plum Puffs are perfect if you’re following a calorie controlled diet and fit well with any one of the major diet plans such as Weight Watchers.

As a guide, an average man needs around 2,500kcal (10,500kJ) a day to maintain a healthy body weight. For an average woman, that figure is around 2,000kcal (8,400kJ) a day. Obviously, if your goal is to lose weight then you might want to adjust these slightly! You can read more about these recommendations on the NHS website.

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Roll out the puff pastry to the thickness of a £1 coin (about 4mm). Use a star cutter (or a shape of your choice!) and cut out 16.

Step 2

Place the pastry stars on a baking tray and prick the centres. In a bowl, mix the plums with the Sukrin Gold and mixed spice. Divide the plums between the star shapes, brush over some of the egg wash and place in the oven for 12 minutes.

Step 3

Dust with Sukrin Icing Sugar and serve with a small bowl of yoghurt to dip (raspberry works really well!)
