For the full list of ingredients and comprehensive instructions, please see the recipe card at the end of this post. Before you scroll, there’s important stuff in the blurb 👍

If you count the Primula in this recipe as a half your Healthy Extra A, and syn the lighter cheese – then it works out at just 1.5 syns per portion. Which for cheesy pasta is well worth it in our opinion!

You could always double the Primula to use all of your A if you want it extra cheesy.

Of course you shouldn’t just have a plate of cheesy pasta, and try to balance it with some speed foods. We’ve opted for fresh tomatoes with basil, but you can use a tin of tomatoes instead!

Feel free to add a bit more salt, or even some balsamic vinegar to enhance the tomatoes further.

Sometimes it’s just nice to skip meat for an evening & this is the perfect way to do it!

    1. Hi Louise
The recipe uses 80g Primula Light (HEa is 75g) so you’re only getting half your HEa amount, as it makes 2 portions.
The lighter cheddar is 40g for HEa. The recipe uses 20g, so in effect, you’re only using 10g per portion, so it’s easier to syn it than try to work out a quarter HEa allowance. Hope that makes sense.

  1. hi ya,

the ingredients list says 1/2 bag of pasta, how big is the bag ?

I ask as I tend to by really big bags of pasta to keep costs down.

    Cheers Paul

    1. Hi Paul
Apologies, it’s one of our older recipes which needs updating!
A standard bag of pasta is approx 500g, so the half bag listed in the recipe would be 250g of dried uncooked pasta.
