These Syn Free Chicken Teriyaki Kebabs are so simple to make.

You’ll need some metal skewers like these from Amazon.

These flat type metal skewers work really well on a barbecue or on the oven as they prevent the meat from spinning around so it’s easier to make sure they’re evenly cooked.

You could use bamboo skewers though you would need to soak them in water beforehand to make sure they don’t burn. They’re not reusable either!

– Freeze it as soon as it is cold enough
– Use a container or bag that is suitable for freezing.
– Defrost thoroughly before reheating.

How do I make these Syn Free Chicken Teriyaki Kebabs?

Step 1

Place all the ingredients, except the chicken, into a bowl and mix well.

Step 2

Cut the chicken thighs into bite sized chunks and place into the marinade. Cover and chill in the fridge for an hour.

Step 3

Once marinaded, place the meat onto a skewer, spray with Frylight and pop onto a hot barbecue  until thoroughly cooked through.

If cooking in an oven, preheat the oven and cook until cooked through.

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Place all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
  2. Cut the chicken thighs into bite sized chunks and place into the marinade. Cover and chill in the fridge for an hour.
  3. Once marinaded, place the meat onto a skewer, spray with Frylight and place onto a hot barbecue for 35 minutes until thoroughly cooked through. If cooking in an oven, preheat the oven to 180ºC and cook for 35 - 40 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Serve with savoury rice, or your choice of accompaniment!

- Make sure it is piping hot all the way through before serving.

- Soy sauce - substitute with Tamari.

      It’s really good, lovely flavours! I often do a ‘deconstructed’ version without the skewers and it tastes amazing! 🙂

  3. For batch cooking/freezing would you cook the kebabs and then freeze, later defrost and reheat, or would you marinade then freeze, defrost and then cook? Many thanks

      We give freezing instructions in the recipe blurb. We recommend cooking, then freezing as soon as they’re cold. 🙂
