I adore a good stuffing! Ok, jokes aside – stuffing is one of the best components of a Christmas lunch. So nice with Turkey, Chicken, Goose or even Pork. My mouth is watering just typing this.

Syn Free Sage And Onion Stuffing

This Syn Free Sage And Onion Stuffing recipe is almost so simple that it doesn’t warrant a recipe. The Balsamic lifts the taste, and makes the onions taste sweeter. It sounds odd I know, but just try it. You’ll be amazed!

Baking it in a foil tray also means no washing up! We like to make this up a couple of days in advance, then bung it in the oven when the roasties go in. We buy ours in bulk from Amazon, but you can probably pick these up in the supermarket too.

Talking of supermarkets, you can get the Linda McCartney sausages too. They’ll be in the freezer along with the other veggie goodies. That’s probably why you’ve never seen them if they don’t ring a bell.

It’s easy to portion up too, just tip it out and slice. It serves 4 adults pretty easily, but you can make it go even further if you like. It’s also veggie friendly, which is a big bonus.

Whenever we need to replace oil in cooking we use Frylight. Perfect for everyday frying and cooking, it delivers exactly one calorie per spray, which makes it Syn free! The Avocado or Olive Oil flavours are ideal for this Syn Free Sage And Onion Stuffing recipe.

    1. Hi Julia
The recipe uses defrosted Linda McCartney sausages, so you’d need to cook the stuffing before you freeze it. (You can’t defrost and re-freeze a product without cooking it.) This would probably result in a very dry stuffing when you reheat, so we wouldn’t really recommend it. Hope that helps.

    1. Hi Diane
As far as I’m aware, these Rosemary and Red Onion sausages are not Gluten Free. If you look them up on a supermarket website, e.g. Tesco, you can look up ingredients. These state in bold that they may contain wheat.

  1. Made this yesterday to go with Sunday roast chicken. Not only did i save the 4 syns that I would usually use for stuffing, but it also tasted amazing. I’m the only one round our table that’s doing SW, but they all wanted me to make it more often… Even the small person who doesn’t usually like stuffing. Yum!

  2. I couldn’t get the Linda McCartney sausages. Could I use low syn meat sausages in replacement of the veggie ones? And just syn the sausages. Would this work? Thanks.
