Inspired by the popular dip from Greece (we could eat it with a spoon!), we’ve made our Tzatziki dip to be just as refreshing and tasty as the original, without the calories! Serve it with sticks of colourful, crunchy vegetables or pitta bread for a summer holiday inspired starter.
With zesty lemon and fresh cucumber juices, this light dip will freshen up your plate in an instant. The best part? You can rustle it up in minutes! We’ve used a short list of easy-to-find ingredients too, so there’s no messing around at the shops.
As it’s so fresh and mild, Tzatziki pairs really well with anything that needs a bit of cooling down. Most famously, it makes a dreamy combo with marinated lamb kebabs or chops, but there’s no need to stop there. Why not try it with a chicken kebab or salad?
What diets is this Tzatziki suitable for?
This Tzatziki recipe is suitable for gluten-free and vegetarian diets.
It can be made dairy free and vegan as long as you swap out the following ingredients for non-dairy, vegan-friendly versions;

Please make sure to double or triple check all of your ingredients if you’re cooking for people with allergies.
Do you need any special ingredients to make Tzatziki?

Step 1
Grate the cucumber onto a plate using a coarse grater. Place the grated cucumber in the centre of a clean tea towel. Gather up the edges to enclose the grated cucumber and squeeze over a small bowl, to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the juices and place the squeezed cucumber in the small bowl.
Step 2
Add the yoghurt, garlic, lemon juice, mint, dill and salt. Stir until evenly combined. Serve at once or cover and chill until ready to serve.
What could I serve with this Tzatziki?
Our Tzatziki works really well when served as a dip with vegetable sticks or pitta bread. Or serve it alongside any of the tasty dishes below…
How do you know when Tzatziki is ready?
You’ll need to mix all of the ingredients until they’re evenly combined. Keep chilled until ready to serve.
How long can you keep Tzatziki in the fridge?
Make sure to refrigerate in a container with a lid and chill.
You can keep leftovers of Tzatziki in the fridge for approximately 1-2 days or so.
Can I freeze Tzatziki?
We don’t recommend freezing this recipe as the cucumber will go all mushy! You can store it in the fridge for a couple of days.
