7up Free Cherry – 1 calorie per 250ml

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

Sometimes you just can’t help but to crave something sweet and fizzy to drink, but that’s not always the most slimming friendly option.

This new 7up Free Cherry is a deliciously low calorie alternative to traditional sugary drinks and it contains no sugars, preservatives, colours or caffeine, which means you won’t be tossing and turning all night trying to fall asleep!

Refreshing lemon and lime flavours combined with a twist of cherry, this is the perfect way to curb your sweet tooth and as it only has 1 calorie per 250ml serving, you won’t need to feel guilty about treating yourself.

We love a glass of this served with an afternoon snack like one of our Lemon and Blueberry Tarts or a slice of our Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips.

We’ve seen this 7up Free Cherry in Sainsburys at £1.65 for a 2 litre bottle and it’s also available in multipack cans.

PACK’D Ripe and Chopped Avocado – 80 calories per 50g

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

We absolutely love frozen fruit and veg as it’s super convenient, and solves the problem of your produce turning bad before you can get round to using it.

For us, one of the worst offenders for this has GOT to be avocado – it always seems like you only have to blink and it’s turned overripe!

That’s why we love this PACK’D Ripe and Chopped Avocado as it’s freshly frozen when ripe and chopped into handy chunks so it’s really easy to use.

You can use these avocado chunks straight from frozen in smoothies, or you can also allow them to defrost for around 30 minutes and use them to make some tasty dips or desserts.

A fresh avocado smoothie is the perfect breakfast on the go and would be delicious with our Breakfast Muffins or a Cranberry and Almond Oat Cookie.

You can find this PACK’D Ripe and Chopped Avocado at Sainsburys or Ocado for around £3.

Emily Fruit Crisps Crunchy Apple – 124 calories per bag

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

You wouldn’t immediately think of crunchy apples and crisps in the same sentence but trust us, it works surprisingly well!

Emily Fruit Crisps Crunchy Apple are the grown up version of veggie crisps: no added sugar or gluten, vegan friendly and one of your 5-a-day!

They’re sweet enough to enjoy as a fruity snack, but you could also use them in cooking. They could add extra texture to a Spiralised Apple and Beetroot Salad, for example.

Sainsbury’s and Waitrose stock Emily Fruit Crisps Crunchy Apple at around £1.50 a bag, and they’re available in banana and pineapple too!

San Pellegrino Classic Taste Lemon Slim Cans – 112 calories per can

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

San Pellegrino is the ultimate posh fizz for a summer evening, but usually fizzy drinks are full of sugar and frankly not worth the calorie outlay!

San Pellegrino Classic Taste Lemon Slim Cans solve this problem with a crisp, fresh flavour made with 16% lemon juice and only 112 calories per can.

We like the sweet taste of this refreshing drink as it doesn’t have the bitterness of some other lemon juices, which makes it an ideal mixer or summer evening alternative to alcohol.

Try it instead of soda water for a refreshing Elderflower Gin Fizz.

We’ve seen San Pellegrino Classic Taste Lemon Slim Cans in Asda, Sainsbury’s and Ocado for around £2.25 for a 4-pack.

Nando’s Vegan Perinaise – 46 calories per serving

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

We love to add a bit of spice to our food wherever we can and this Nando’s Vegan Perinaise has the perfect amount of heat.

Peri peri spices blended with an egg free mayo mean that this Perinaise is even suitable for vegan diets – and it’s gluten free too.

At 46 calories per serving it’s the perfect way to liven up a salad or jazz up a sandwich, but our favourite way to enjoy it is with our Sausage Rolls or drizzled over our Rustic Potato Wedges.

You can pick up Nando’s Vegan Perinaise from Ocado where it’s currently on offer at £1.50 per bottle (usually £1.85).

Waitrose Singapore Rice Stir Fry – 158 calories per ½ pack serving

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

If you’ve had a busy day and don’t fancy spending time in the kitchen, then sometimes you just need to be able to open up the cupboards and grab something that’s ready in a flash.

We love this Waitrose Singapore Rice Stir Fry as, not only is it suitable for vegan diets, it’s ready in just 3 minutes – how good is that?!

In our opinion it tastes just like the Singapore noodles that you can pick up from your local takeaway, but is a more slimming friendly choice at just 158 calories per ½ pack serving.

You can pop this in the microwave if you’d prefer, but we recommend stir frying it as it really helps to preserve that delish spicy flavour.

If you fancy then you can also add some prawns, chicken or even pork – just make sure everything is cooked through first before you combine it!

This Waitrose Singapore Rice Stir Fry is available from Waitrose for £2 per pouch and it’s currently on offer at 2 for £3.50.

They have lots of other stir fry flavours available in this range including Rice, Quinoa & Vegetable, and Brown Rice & Green Vegetable that are all perfect to have on hand in the cupboard.

Mike’s Alcoholic Hard Seltzer Lemon – 100 calories per can

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

This week you’re spoiled for choice of delicious drinks on our slimming essentials list, and Mike’s Alcoholic Hard Seltzer with Lemon is no exception!

Sparkling lemony water, with a touch of distilled alcohol and no artificial sweeteners. It’s also vegan, gluten free and – wait for it – only 100 calories per can!

Light and refreshing, this seltzer is ideal for a portion-controlled, easy to grab tipple in a pinch. You can even get them in black cherry and lime flavours – we’ll ‘cheers’ to that!

Mike’s Alcoholic Hard Seltzer with Lemon can be found in most major supermarkets for around £2 a can.

Muller Light Fat Free Sweet Shop Yoghurts – 49 calories per pot

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

Bringing back the flavour of two of our favourite childhood sweets, Muller Light Fat Free Sweet Shop Yoghurts include creamy rhubarb and custard and lemon sherbet flavours.

Fat free, veggie and no added sugar mean these pots of nostalgia are ideal any time of the day.

With less than 99 calories per pot, you could even break the rules by having ‘sweets’ for breakfast in Overnight Oats, or for a twist on our Unicorn Eton Mess as a pud!

You can grab a multipack of Muller Light Fat Free Sweet Shop Yoghurts at most supermarkets, and they’re currently on offer at £2 for 6 at Iceland

Fibre One Triple Choc Cake Bars – 90 calories per bar

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

Chances are you’ll have seen, heard or tried the famous Fibre One brownie squares, but over on our Facebook Group, Paula Spencer spotted a slightly different sweet treat that deserves a shout out.

Fibre One Triple Choc Cake Bars include a layer of soft cake, smooth creamy filling, a rich dark topping and crispy sprinkles but still contain 30% less fat and sugar than the average cake bar.

They also contain 30% more fibre to keep you fuller for longer, so these make an ideal afternoon snack or evening treat in front of the telly.

If you have a little more time and ingredients, our Chocolate Brownies are another deliciously rich chocolatey treat that our Facebook group loves!

Fibre One Triple Choc Cake Bars are stocked in most supermarkets at around £2.90 for a pack of 4.

Magnum Vegan Almond Ice Cream – 248 calories per bar

The Weekly Pinch of Shopping | Pinch of Nom Slimming Recipes

Dairy free ice cream bars coated in dairy free chocolate and crunchy almond pieces means that you can still enjoy a tasty, ice cream treat on a vegan diet.

These Magnum Vegan Almond Ice Creams are so rich and creamy that you’d never guess that they don’t contain any dairy.

The best part is that, even though these desserts are vegan, you still get that signature ‘crack’ that you’d expect from a Magnum.

At 248 calories per bar, these vegan ice creams are the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer’s day, or to enjoy as a dessert or a mid-afternoon snack.

We’ve found these Magnum Vegan Almond Ice Creams in Tesco, Iceland, Waitrose and Sainsburys at around £3.50 for a box of 3.
